Processing Type: RBD (Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized)
Obtained From: Fruit
Description: There is often a lot of confusion over Palm Kernel Oil and Palm Oil. Both can be used interchangeably, but there are differences. Palm Oil is derived from the palm fruit whereas Palm Kernel comes from the kernel of the fruit. Palm Oil is derived from the fruit of the palm tree. It is semi-solid at room temperature and is rich in palmitic acid, Vitamin E, Vitamin K and Magnesium. It contains natural anti-oxidants and works well in cold-process soap making. This variety of Palm Oil is Refined, Bleached and Deodorized (RBD).
Color: Clear when liquid, white to slightly pale yellow when solid.
Aromatic Description: Palm Carrier Oil has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils.
Common Uses: Our Palm Carrier Oil is refined and is almost exclusively used by cold process soap manufacturers.
Consistency: Semi-solid at room temperatures - gentle heating is required during production.
Absorption: Palm Carrier Oil will leave an oily feeling on your skin if applied neat.
Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of up to 2 years with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for current Best Before Date.
Note: The facilities from which we purchase this product do not process peanuts or manufacture peanut oil.
Cautions: None Known.
Storage: It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before using.

Rating: I used this in several batches of cp soap. It seems to work very well, but should not make up more than 15% of the recipe or it gives it a flaky look (not to be confused with palm oil). I buy this because it specifically states that it's from an RSPO supplier, and I feel better about using it. The bucket is somewhat difficult to open, but seals well.

Rating: This is a "Must Have" for CP soap. I've noticed some people have a hard time with the container the oil comes in. I just put mine in hot water in the kitchen sink for about 10 minutes, let it soften and liquify and then pour it out into a different container (I use a bucket with lid and once it hardens again you can just scoop it out).

Rating: This is a great quality palm oil at a really good price. It will scoop out nicely if you put it someplace warm for a few hours or so before using. It is pretty hard straight from the fridge.

Rating: Wow is all i can say--creamy, rich, absolutely the Palm! I enjoy this oil so much and can't wait to give it out in scented creams to my friends and family.
Rating: I bought Palm Oil by accident and was distressed when I saw the consistency which is thick, even lumpy. I make scrubs not soaps. I gave it a try anyway not knowing if it would emulsify with the other ingredients. I added everything, putting it in my mechanical mixer hit the mix button and much to my surprise it came out great. I tried the finished product at the spa and my clients (and coworkers) went nuts over it. The best thing - I did the math and it takes less raw material using the palm oil to result in a superior product! Give it a try (with the aid of a mechanical mixer).

Rating: Excellent high quality oil. Excellent results in hard soaps and liquid soaps. Many of our clients have expressed a concern over allergic reactions to coconut oil, and we therefore elected to make all our soap products with Palm Kernel oil with wonderful results.
By:Christine, Scotland, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I love using this oils in soapmaking! It's a good replacement for coconut oil.
I purchased 4kg of Palm Kernel oil. Even though it was packaged in the wide-mouth container, it's still not wide enough and it's difficult to scoop out such hard oil.
By:Alla, Toronto, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: This is a great oil for soap making. When I received the bottle it was in a solid form and was tricky to get out. Maybe a different type of packaging would be more appropriate.
Rating: Palm Kernal oil is a great addition to your soap. It contributes to a hard bar, and amazing lather!
