Product Abstract: Citronella Oil is extracted from a resilient grass native to Sri Lanka and Java. It is a very aromatic perennial that grows approximately 1 meter (3 feet) in height. It is often used in combination with Cedarwood to produce pleasant-smelling patio candles and torches.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals, and should be avoided by those allergic to ragweed; a skin test is recommended prior to use, and contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping), be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: Lovely. It's a *little* too sharp for my taste, so I'm giving it 4 stars. But overall, this is a great oil. I can't wait to use it in a deodorant!

Rating: Like other reviewers I found this oil to be excellent as a bug/mosquito repellant. The scent is super strong and I found a little goes a long way. I add a few drops to the melted wax in my outdoor candles for extra protection against mosquitos. It works!!

Rating: Citronella Java Essential Oil is STRONG! I could smell it through all the packaging while I was unpacking my order. It's a pleasant, bright citrus smell that's said to be effective against insects. I'm looking forward to trying it as a bug spray....

Rating: Whoa! This EO is SUPER STRONG!! I wanted to make a yummy smelling insect repellent (since all the ones I can find at the store smell way too chemical to me), but when I put just one drop of this in, it overpowered all of the other EOs I had. Don't get me wrong, it smells EXACTLY like you'd expect citronella to smell, but I think I should have diluted it A LOT to get the level of odor that I wanted without turning my mixture into something cloyingly lemony.

By:Stephanie, Sewell, New Jersey Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 11-May-2009
Rating: Makes a great insect repellant when mixed with other EOs.

Rating: An ounce or so of Citronella Jave in a gallon of plain \'ole kerosene makes basically the same thing as the $10+ a gallon \"Citronella lamp oil\" that the department stores sell. You will be making your own bug repelling lamp oil for less than half the price the department stores charge.
If you can find it, get \"water clear\" or \"K-1\" kerosene from a gas station rather than in cans at the hardare store ... same stuff, way cheaper.
Rating: Nice smell, not overpowering. Great price for large quantities.

Rating: Fantastic and light, I find this citronella less musky than the citronella ceylon, but still with the same insect repellant properties.
