Description / Color / Consistency: A thin, clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid.
Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note with a medium aroma, it can be best described by comparing it to a dill pickle with citrus notes. It is surprisingly fresh and clean, and not as tart as one would expect.
Product Abstract: Closely related to the trees that give us Frankincense and Myrrh, Elemi exudes an exotic, fragrant resin when its leaves are sprouting. This yellow resin, similar to Frankincense and Muhuhu, has a strong woody scent, which solidifies when it comes into contact with the air. Elemi is known locally as pili, and the gum is exported from the Philippines. It has been used as a substitute for Frankincense, which has been used throughout the civilized world since ancient times.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: This is one of my new favorite oils. It blends nicely with a lot of other oils and is amazing all on its own. I made a room spray with Elemi and Sweet Orange and it smells just like summer!
Rating: This is absolutely one of my favorite oils. I don't get a dill pickle smell. To me this is a peppery, woody, citrus note that is fantastic blended with bergamot and ylang ylang.

Rating: Elemi is a treat! It's scent is delightful and gives hints that it is more than just something fun to smell. I use it as a brightener in topical remedies and as a balancer in aromatherapy. Thank you NDA for offering this asset to all of us. Thank you to Shane from SC for some history on this ancient remedy.
Rating: I blended Elemi with lavender, clary sage and a few other oils for the air vent diffuser in my car. I let the blend mature for a couple of days and it smells fantastic. Completely recommend purchasing this oil for anyone who wants something a little different to add to their collection!
Rating: I've been using Elemi with White Fir for fibromalgia pain and its working. Just read other reviews now know its calming and meditating effect it has too. Love the scent better than Frankencense.

Rating: Elemi is hard to describe. Mostly it has a sparkling zippy lemon scent with a slight hint of frankincense undertone to it it doesn't smell like dill to me but there is some indescribably special extra something about this essential oil. I'm not a big lemon/litsea cubeba/melissa/citrus fan but I love, love, love elemi.

Rating: Elemi has always been one of my absolute favorite incense resins, and I love the essential oil even more. That utterly intrepid, insanely complex odor of dill, frankincense, and exotic citrus does wonderful, wonderful things to various fragrances and I use the oil for its therapeutic nature in facial elixirs and other skin care treats. I'd reccomend again and again.

Rating: Elemi oil is one of my favorites. It has a resinous scent with lemony and pine-like tones. Elemi is great for skin care, wound healing, respiratory complaints, and meditation. This is one of the oils that i find helps open the psychic senses.

Rating: This one is new to me - I was courious so I got it - be careful when opening as it is very thin and splahes easily when breaking that new cap ring!
I have it all over my hands now but luckily I love the scent! : )

Rating: Often overlooked, Elemi essential oil is very useful. It is great to ease away muscular pains in massage blends. It is also good for the skin and helps prevent wrinkles. Elemi has a long history of use, dating back to Ancient Egypt. Seventeenth cenutry physician, J. J. Wecker, used elemi in a balm to help heal the wounds of soldiers. Today it is often found as a perfume ingredient. Elemi has many uses and can benefit everyone!

Rating: Another of the most under-rated oils....this intensely fresh essential oil is so useful! I find it wonderful in male/balancing blends as well as a peaceful tonic for women too. If you've never tried it, do......you won't be sorry.
