Botanical Name:Sandalum album
Our floral waters are extremely versatile. They can be added to your creams and lotions at 30% - 50% in the water phase, or in an aromatic face or body spritz. They are an excellent addition to linen sprays and a simple way for the novice aromatherapist to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. They may also be added to make a fragrant and soothing hot bath.
Important: Please note that floral waters may be sensitizing to some individuals. We strongly recommend that a patch test of this product be done on the skin before use.

Rating: This floral water is really lovely. I was afraid the scent of sandalwood would be too weak but it is pleasantly robust. I used it in a facial toner and aftershave and clients are loving it, as do my boyfriend and I. It's definitely a staple in my ingredient list now. Definitely recommend it!

Rating: Can't afford a vacation but need a relaxing get away? I will use this as a mini vaca or stayca. It's exotic, relaxing aroma allows you to drift away to those sunny, sandy shores miles away without leaving your bedroom or backyard hammock. Spritz this at afternoon break time for a restful daydream- just be sure to set your alarm- so the only thing docked is in your dream- not your paycheck!

Rating: Smelled absolutely amazing. I had to not use it on any part of my body though since it gave me terrible headaches for some reason. I use it for my laundry instead.
Rating: I've used these floral waters for years now. They are absolutely the best I've ever found and they remain very reasonably priced. The Indian Sandalwood is one of my favorites because it is so true to the scent of the oil, just a much softer, subtler scent that still lingers well. I love mixing this with the rose hydrosol to create a signature, woodsy rose scent. These floral waters have a very, very long shelf life if you take care of them. This is the only place I buy floral waters.

Rating: I enjoy using floral waters as hydrosols in all of my lotions. This hydrosol is so subtle, that the earthy beauty of sandlewood is, shall we say, watered down to the extreme. I recognize that sandlewood is a base and therefore subtle by nature, but this is just too weak for my taste. Do not discount it on my review however, it could simply be that I am not as receptive to such subtleties.

Rating: Gentle wood/earth scent. This is my one and only addition that is not a floral scent, and I love it. Great to have and will be a staple. Use it often in men' s creams and sprays. Great for aging skin and wrinkles.

Rating: great alternative to the essential oil, the price is great. to my nose, a very subtle scent...but its definitely there. can't wait to play with it! thanks ND.
Rating: This is a subtle hydrosol with a slight deep note of spice useful in men's colognes, aftershaves, toners and cleansers.

Rating: Lovely, rich, lasting scent. I love sandalwood, but the pure oil is so expensive now. It's great to get the scent of sandalwood in an affordable water. I love it for skin care and just plain smelling good.

Rating: Thank you for the addition to my review. I later found out evidently there are people who can not smell sandalwood. I happen to be one of them. I bought sandalwood oil and made a CP soap. I can not smell that either. But other people do its a great seller for me

Rating: Maybe I got a bad batch but mine had no scent, the rose and lavender were perfect.
New Directions Aromatics Response:
Sandalwood is a base note oil, meaning that it does not have the top notes that jump out and are identified readily by the nose. Sandalwood is exotic, subtle, and lingering. Customers should expect a slower, more sophisticated product in terms of scent.

Rating: This is a nice smelling sandlewood floral hydrosol; it smells just like the essential oil, except in water form. It could probably be added to a thick lotion base since I found it so moisturizing, too.

Rating: I hesitated ordering this one because it is priced higher than the others due to the endangered status of Sandalwood. However, I formulate products with sandalwood notes that I was hoping the hydrosol could be substituted for a few drops of essential oil. I was not disapointed. It is strong smelling and a little goes a very long way, and I have to remind myself that tons more water is produced with every drop of eso produced, so if you can use fragrant water instead, it is the way to go. It will provide a luxurious base for many applications.

Rating: Good price for such an excellent quality floral water. I love sandalwood, especially east indian type, there is no comparison. This one is truly beautiful in a linen spray especially mixed with neroli.....mmmmmmmm, fantastic!
