Rating: With the price of the essential oil so high I had to look for the fragrance oil. This smells very much like the sandalwood EO I have. I would say for medicinal or aromatherapy sure spend the extra on EO but if you are making soap or other cosmetics then this should fit the bill for you.

Rating: A PERFECT Sandalwood!
Takes me back to my youth better than any other I've tried. (And it's been a few).
Rating: I have been buying from NDA for almost 10 years. Previously I bought fragrant oils from other companies and was always disappointed. With NDA I have always bought essential oils until I recently bought this. This has got to be the best fragrant oil I have ever smelled. I'm an old Hippie, and this is the scent from days gone by that I remember. I just finished my homemade incense with this oil and it is amazing. I'm going to put it in my soaps too along with Patchouli oil. I'm sure, like Patchouli oil it is an acquired smell. To me it is awesome! It smells so close to Sandalwood, I can't tell the difference. Thank you, NDA!! Customer for life!
Rating: I just received this and haven't used it in soap, yet, but love it. It smells like Sandalwood fragrance of the 70's. This has other fragrant notes so It isn't going to smell like EO. I will be using it for incense to take me back.

Rating: This fragrance didn't smell anything like other Sandalwoods that I have bought from 4 different suppliers. Very faint and almost non existent in cold processed soap at .8%

Rating: I used this oil at .5 percent in CP soap. My soap smells like meat. Very gross. However, I tried it some patchouli EO and that batch is good enough to sell. I won't buy this again. The scent is almost sickening. Nothing like sandalwood EO.
Rating: Sandalwood Extra smells great OOB, but fades to almost nothing after gel in cp soap at 1oz per 16 oz of oils. I discount water to 2x lye so that may be a factor. I love the fragrance, but if it won't last I'll have to stop using it.
Rating: Personally, I do not like the smell of this Sandalwood, but then again, I don't know what real sandalwood is supposed to smell like. My customers, however, do like it in cold processed soaps and it sells well for me. It does not discolor or accelerate so I'll give this one a four stars.

Rating: Fantastic fragrance oil when you can't afford the essential oil yet, or are concerned with the sustainability of harvested sandalwood. Customers kept asking for a sandalwood and this fragrance delivered! Works well in CP soap with no discoloration or acceleration. I already bought a backup bottle b/c I'll keep this in my regular production now.
Rating: This I am really hooked on! It is a beautiful scent that both male and female customers like. I used it in CP GM soap and it behaves beautifully and the fragrance stays true and lasts a long time.I get many compliments when I shower with this.

Rating: This is an update to the previous review I sent in September . I've fallen in love with the aroma of this oil. Although I love the small of true sandalwood, which I purchased from you since then, this is my favorite scent, because of its lasting and masculine aroma...it takes me to another place and makes me want to cuddle a lot. :). I'm making some m&p soap bars so that I can revel in the scent even more!

Rating: I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed in this fragrance oil. It seems very weak, and it doesn't really smell like sandalwood. I was going to use it in candles, but when I pour it in the wax, it totally disappears. I'll be throwing this bottle away.

Rating: An interesting aroma. But I'm not very familiar with Sandalwood. This is definitely very masculine and has an extremely sexy overtone. I'll need to try the real thing when I am able to afford it to make a true estimation.

Rating: I used this in my HP soap and it held up well and lasted in my soaps for many months. The scent is close to the original sandlewood...I love it!

Rating: I ordered over twenty FO's and EO's over the last month and I have to say this one is my favourite. I bought the 100 ml bottle and I wish I had bought the 500 ml bottle. The price is incredible and the smell is so comforting to me. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It blew me away.

Rating: Wow. This fragrance oil took me by surprise. When I smelled it out of the bottle, or neat on my skin, I was disappointed. The scent, although pleasing, was not sandalwood to my nose. It smelled sweet and synthetic, sort of like a melting piece of plastic with an unintentional pleasant chemical smell ... BUT! when I mixed it with lotion and applied to my skin, I was taken by surprise! The low sillage smells exactly like warm, buttery sandalwood, minus the cedary woody notes. It is really quite regal. It's like a gentle, sexy aura of sandalwood all around me. It reminds me of a hand fan i have, which is made of sandalwood. I must admit, however, when I put my nose to my skin, the fragrance does still smell sort of synthetic and sweet, but after smelling the overall effect, my brain is interpreting it as "extra" sandalwood rather than "synthetic imitation" ... i know this sounds like a backwards compliment, but I'll let my 5 star rating summarize my overall feelings. :)

Rating: Amazing!! This is the closest to real Indian Sandalwood that I have ever smelled and I can attest to this fact since I have a bottle of $150 Indian Sandalwood in my EO drawer.....I have been looking for a LONG time for a good Sandalwood, I have finally found it. Thank you New Directions! The fact that it is also Phthalate Free is awesome, too, since I don't use anything else in my candles. On to a bigger bottle for me!
Rating: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!!! I normally only use eo's in my cp soapmaking, but so many people have been requesting sandalwood, jasmine, and rose fragrances. As these eo's are too expensive to use in cp soap, I have been searching for phthalate free fragrances that I could use. This fragrance turned out amazing in my cp soap. Added rose petals to the top of the soap and completely sold out at one show. Will order again, and again, and again, and again, .......
