Standardization: 11.3% dry herb/L of oil (i.e., 113 g herb per 1000 ml of oil)
Common Uses: Also known as Mexican Arnica, the herb has been used medicinally on this continent for centuries. Because of the dearth of Arnica montana, a popular herb indigenous to Europe, it is currently used in Europe as a substitution when formulating topical skin-care products that provide an overall soothing experience.
Topically, Arnica Herbal Oil can be used in preparations for tinctures, creams, ointments, compresses and poultices.
Cautions: Arnica should only be applied to unbroken skin as it is known to promote blood circulation and may increase bleeding of wounds.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: Unbelievably good in how it works.
I have arthritis and fibromyalgia. Because of drug allergies I can only tolerate one Aleve every two weeks, can’t take Tylenol or any other pain reliever. Recently I did something to my shoulder and have been in so much pain that I was nauseous. The pain spreading down my arm getting into my wrist, chest, back, and up into my neck. Just touching the skin on my shoulder hurt. I had to do something in the weeks between my Dr’s appointment and physical therapy. Remembering that I had some Arnica from my last order in the fridge, I started using it twice a day. Once after my shower and again about twelve hours later, gently rubbing it well into the muscles and shoulder joint. Not sure how well it would work, I was surprised to discover that most of the pain was gone within the hour. The shoulder joint still hurts some, but no where near as before, and I have pretty good use of my arm as long as I don’t go wild with it. The injury still needs to heal, but I can go about my day without that constant painful companion, and sleep is a lot easier at night.

Rating: My husband uses this daily for all his joints from the back down and it really helps. I have used it on occasion and find relief. Also is a very good price per ounce compared to another brand we used.

Rating: I didn't really know what to use this for-so one day my mom was at my house-she had a severe infection in her hand(looked like a brown recluse bite) so I mixed this oil plus some others and the oils seemed to help a lot- Especially with the skin healing. So I would say it works good. I also applied it to my sprained ankle and it seemed to help it, as well.

Rating: New Directions arnica oil surpassed all of my expectations. Many of my customers use it on a regular bases. This past winter I applied it to a very badly buised elbow, the result of a bad fall on ashpalt, the bruising was gone in 2 days. Many of my arthitic customers enjoy improved movement and comfort from using the arnica oil directly on the joint, the olive oil allows you to use a little bit with great results.
