This product is manufactured in a certified organic facility using organic ingredients in the United Kingdom. Since it is not NOP/USDA certified, which is the only recognized accreditation in North America we are classifying this product as a NCO product.
Our Melt and Pour NCO Soap Base is free from any foam boosters and preservatives. Made from organic vegetable oils, this base contains no alcohol or harmful products to dry your skin!
Glycerin, a natural emollient, is included to draw moisture from the air to benefit skin. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy looking skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap you’re trying to make.

Important Note: This soap base is made from natural ingredients, therefore the color may vary batch to batch. This variation in color may affect the end product. Please do a small test batch.
Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

Rating: I am not very pleased with this soap base. It's sticky and soft and stays shiny even when additives were included to produce an opaque bar. It does not harden at all and feels greasy.
I may just take the plunge and start making cold process soap after trying this one.
Also dislike the plastic containers that it comes in. When buying organic products I'd expect at least recyclable packaging.

Rating: This product is great. But I will say, I ordered a case and it came directly from the manufacturer who did not package it well and the majority of the soap was damaged in shipment. NDA customer service handled the ordeal nicely though.

Rating: I absolutely love this soap. Of all melt and pour bases that I have tried, this one is the best (I have NOT tried other bases from New Directions though-I've tried other brands). I love the natural scent and I use this one for my baby soap line and some of my facial bars. All other soaps that I produce are cold processed.
*This soap smells wonderful as is.
*It takes essential oils well.
*I get 8-4oz round bars out of each 2-lb brick.
*It does NOT leave skin dry but moisturized
*It's thicker than other bases (a little gooey-like) so using additives is a bit tricky. The key for me has been to thoroughly mix the additive (clay, oats, powders) with a small amount of the melted soap and then add that to the entire lot.
You will love this and if you're selling the soap, your customers will love it as well. I just made a patchouli batch while waiting for my "cold-process" patchouli to cure. I cannot say enough good things about this one.
Rating: This base is fantastic! I love how my skin feels after I use it! I made a patchouli scented batch for my dad this winter and he loved how well the soap moisturizer his skin. He even plans on purchasing some himself now!

Rating: Love this base. I tried 3 M&P bases, this one, sls free and goats milk. This one had excellent lather, and held scents nicely. I don't see myself buying any other, as I really want to stay away from sulphates. Can't wait to see all the things I can create with this base!

Rating: I used it to make oatmeal lavender soap, and created the most gentle facial cleanser I've ever used! One of the few soaps I've used that does not dry out the skin. I love the price and the ingredients even more. Quite a steal and a staple for my hand milled soaps!

Rating: Great soap with a yellowish color, which creates wonderful colors when mixed with lab colors (e.g. a drop or two of red lab color leads to a beautiful orange color). Recommended!
Rating: I love this glycerin base, I add different clays, extracts, oils from ND, and very little fragrance, it is easy to work with and a bar lasts for a long long time, I have to give a lot away so I can keep trying new additives, The people I have given to, come back to buy some for their friends, It has a healthy yummy color and fragrance on its own.

Rating: I made some soap yesterday and I love the lather of bubbles this base produce!!! The EO took very well too. I was trying out a black soap recipe and the oils took very well, and the additional ingredients I added (all natural of course). The price is great compared to other sites, so this will definitely be my primary site for purchases unless you're out of stock on what I need at the time... :(. I really do love this base. LOVE IT. Rating: I just made some bars using this soap base yesterday. I have very sensitive skin and this soap base is just perfect. It lathers up beautifully and hold scent and color very well. I made some lemon myrtle soaps and they turned out so well I almost wanted to eat them! It seems like the bar will last a long time too which is another advantage. YUM, YUM, YUM!!!
Rating: High quality, mild soap--great for sensitive skin. The light golden is very attractive. I made a batch with organic oatmeal and calendula flowers that turned out very nice. Great for a baby gift to a new mother since it is so gentle. Does not lather as much as the other soap bases but you feel clean and it doesn't irritate your skin. I'll order more!

Rating: Just received this base today and have already incorporated it into an anti-bacterial liquid soap (EO blend at 1%) formula and should have results in 72 hours or so. I used some of the soap shavings to wash my hands with several times during the process and didn't find a thing to complain about. The base smells natural -as it should- and no soapy or sticky residue. I'll use this in M&P bar soaps as well. Very nice product. Will purchase again.

Rating: By far this is the best melt and pour base, I'm glad I tried it. It works well with Shea and honey, it is great! I'm ordering more to use in all my melt and pour soaps. I like that you get the information sheets so that you can pass the information on to your customers in case they want to know if it is a true organic base. That's as important to me as the product itself. I ordered the block first and it takes some doing to get your soap base , but it was well worth the effort when I tried the finished product.My husband loves it as well. Best prices on the web also!

Rating: This was the first soap I ever made and it made me a believer in melt and pour soap. Didn't want to get into cold soap processing and lye, just wanted easy and organic. My family is chemically sensitive and my sister is allergic to many common/hidden ingredients in food and toiletries. For myself I kept trying one soap after another. They would each work a little while and then, because of middle age and harsh soap chemicals, just become problems. This went on for a period of years until I really grew tired of it. That was the primary instigator for making my own soap. I researched it online and settled on this particular soap and felt confident in the company. I created a recipe for my own facial beauty soap having researched essential oils and butters using this soap. I have used it for two years now, modified my recipe slightly as needed but it never fails. It retains the essential oil, butters and other components beautifully. My secret for keeping it perfect until use? I add the oils and butters as it cools and as soon as its set and room temp. seal each bar in an airtight bag and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. It will be good a year later with no shrinkage or other problems. I won't even try other soaps because I am so happy with this one and my sister who cannot use any kind of soap except mine LOVES IT as much as I DO!

Rating: Did not want to get out of the shower. This is by far the Best melt & pour I have ever used. I will never use another. This will go wonderfully with my line or organic based products. I used the Lavendar bolgaria eo While I was making this soap my husbands friend came in and said "this house smells great" I rest my case. You definately need a soap dish that is made to hold this soap. This soap just slips right out of your hand. The lather is unbelieveable. It feels so good on the skin, the water just bubbles off the skin. You guys have created such a wonderful product. Congratulations! and Thank you!

Rating: I have been using the organic M&P soap base since it's introduction, and I find it easy to use, long lasting, maintains a lovely colour, holds ingredients in suspension well and takes essential oils and botanicals with no problem. I have started buying and cutting the large blocks and find them very reasonable and easy to cut.
