Hydrating and Conditioning: Cetyl Alcohol is renowned for its skin-friendly nature, providing deep hydration and conditioning benefits when applied to the skin and hair.
Effective Emulsifying Agent: In natural cosmetic preparations, Cetyl Alcohol acts as a superior emulsifier, homogenizing components that typically separate and creating a stable, consistent product.
Thickening and Opacifying: Cetyl Alcohol is highly effective as a thickening agent as well as an opacifier, allowing you to achieve the desired consistency in your formulations.
Skin-Friendly and Non-Drying: Unlike rubbing alcohol, which is known for its drying effects on the skin, Cetyl Alcohol is non-drying and beneficial for the skin. It provides a moisturizing and protective barrier, making it suitable for sensitive skin types and enhancing the overall skin feel of your products.
Cetyl Alcohol is a highly versatile, all-purpose ingredient revered in the cosmetic industry for its exceptional thickening properties and ability to impart stable consistency to a wide range of products. Comprised of 95% fatty acids derived from sustainable vegetable oils, primarily palm oil, this multifunctional material elevates formulations with its myriad benefits.
As an emollient, Cetyl Alcohol enhances the sensory experience of skincare and haircare products, leaving them with a luxurious, silky feel. Its role as a viscosity stabilizer ensures that formulations maintain their desired consistency, while its foam-enhancing properties add a rich, creamy lather to cleansing products.
Cetyl Alcohol comes in white, odourless flakes, offering ease of incorporation into various formulations. While it is insoluble in cold water and only very slightly soluble in hot water and alcohol, it integrates seamlessly into oil phases, contributing to the creation of smooth, uniform emulsions. Elevate your cosmetic creations with Cetyl Alcohol, the quintessential ingredient for achieving premium texture, stability, and performance in your products.
Body Lotion: Melt up to 3% Cetyl Alcohol in the oil phase of your formulation by heating it gently until fully dissolved. Combine with other ingredients as per your recipe and mix thoroughly to ensure a uniform consistency.
Shampoo and Conditioner: Add up to 6% Cetyl Alcohol to the oil phase and heat until melted. Combine with the water phase and other ingredients, mixing well until the product cools and thickens. This will improve the texture and conditioning properties of your shampoo or conditioner.
Makeup Formulations: Depending on the type of makeup product, a range of 0.5% - 10% Cetyl Alcohol is recommended for the total formulation. Melt Cetyl Alcohol with the oil phase components. Blend with other ingredients according to your formulation, ensuring a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
