Botanical Name: Ricinus communis
Extraction Method: Cold Pressed
Description: Castor oil is one of the few oils that can be used as an emulsifying agent. It also acts as a protective barrier on your skin that will protect against harsh environmental conditions.
Color: Light Yellow
Aromatic Description:
Description: Castor has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils
Common Uses: Castor oil is used in massage, aromatherapy, and in manufacturing (particularly as a conditioning agent in hair care products).
Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.
Absorption: By design, Castor oil will remain on the surface of the skin, acting as a barrier.
Shelf life: Castor oil is slow to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 6 Months to 1 Year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Castor's Castor right? Or at least that's what I thought till I used New Directions Castor oil. This Castor Oil surpasses that from other suppliers and makes a noticeable difference in all your natural cosmetics.

I use castor oil for making my cold process soap and liquid soap. castor oil acts as a humectant by attracting and retaining mosture to the skin. also, I added castor oil for my shampoo making. I make liquid soap for my hair. I combine coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, hemp seed oil and jojoba oil for make my liquid hair soap and it works amazing ! good qulity and reasonable price !

This is the best quality of castor oil that I have purchased in the past 12 months from any other supplier. Highly recommend using this oil in cold process soap making and hair care products

Castor oil is great for soapmaking...gives a nice bubbly lather. I use castor in alot of facial products and i definitely notice a difference if i do not add it. I am always happy with the quality and price of New Directions products.

Great oil for use in soaps! Great price too. Have used this with much success in shampoo bars and regular cp soaps. Give it a try!
