Botanical Name: Tanacetum annum

Plant Part: Flowers

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled

Origin: Morocco

Description: The plant grows to 90-125 cm high with very hairy leaves and tubular yellow flowers, surrounded by white ligulets.

Color: Bluish green liquid.

Common Uses: Chamomile Moroccan is effective as an analgesic, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antibacterial, carminative, cholagogue, digestive, emmenagogue, febrifuge, fungicidal, hepatic, nerve sedative, stimulant of leucocyte production, stomachic, sudorific, vermifuge, and as vulnerary agent. This herb has a long-standing medical tradition especially in Europe, such as nervous dyspepsia, nervous bowel, tension headaches, and sleeplessness; especially useful for all children's conditions, calming without being depressing. The essential oil is an excellent skincare remedy; it has many of the same qualities as Roman chamomile, except that its anti-inflammatory properties are greater because of a higher percentage of azulene.

Aromatic Scent: Chamomile Moroccan has a sweetish-warm, spicy, herbaceous odor.

History: Native to northwest Africa and southern Spain, having probably evolved from the very common Ormenis species that grows all around the Mediterranean.

Cautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant, may cause dermatitis in some individuals. Do not use this essential oil during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant.

I am on my third bottle and use it together with Blur Tansy and other oils for nerve pain. It works wonders. I also apply it to my face before putting lotion on to help the dry spots. It's one oil I take with me when I travel.

I just bought my third bottle of Morocco Chamomile. I use it with a carrier oil on my skin, especially my face and neck before I put my sunscreen on. It helps the rough spots and blemishes that pop up. It works well on irritated skin and I like the scent.

NDA chamomile, German; helped me get rid of a fungal infection on my face. I added it to my moisturizer adding a woody scent verses melelueca oil. Within weeks the breakout was gone. I also added it to my shampoo and conditioner for extra soft hair. It also works great to break alergic reactions in adults and children. Children with ADD respond well using the oil. One drop on the wrist is enough. Add a few drops to a dryer sheet over your air vents calms the whole crowd of roudy kids. One drop on your pillow at night will give you sweet dreams. I have found so many uses and a great value.

Nice Chamomile and less costly than the German. Used as a cheaper alternative to true chamomile but it is actually Ormenis Oil. I have used it for amenorrhoea, colic, colitis, dysmenorrhoea, headache, insomnia, irritability, liver congestion, migraine, sensitive skin, spleen congestion. (Also known as Anthemis mixta, Moroccan Chamomile, Ormenis mixta.) Very reasonably priced and excellent quality.
