I would give this butter three to four stars. It's very creamy in that it is midway between a liquid and a solid substance. The viscosity is roughly that of petroleum jelly, but the product is quite grainy as the previous reviewer mentioned. (These are not hard granules such as husks - I'm honestly not sure what causes this butter to be so grainy). Heating or melting, then recooling the butter DOES NOT make the butter smooth - it returns to its original state. Therefore this is not a butter to be used alone on skin as one might do with Sweet Almond Butter.
Where this butter really shines though is in combination with other, harder butters such as shea or tucuma butter. Grapeseed should not comprise more than 50% (and should probably comprise an even lower percentage) of such blends though, as they too will become too granulated to be pleasant. This butter combined with shea butter, glycerine and essential oils makes a really nice balm or cream.
