I just received a lip balm made with this base and it is by far the best lip balm I've ever tried. And coming from a true lip balm junkie that's saying something! If you want to really WOW your customers or you simply want to make lip balm for yourself this is the one to go with. It glides on very smooth and lasts for hours, even through eating and drinking, yet it doesn't feel heavy or greasy like many I've tried.

I really like using this product. It goes on very smoothly, softens for a long time, and is not sticky or gooey.
What I am struggling with is finding a balance between adding enough flavor without making it too soft. I also haven't found a good container for it in the price range I was looking for from ND. I bought some from another bottle supplier, but when you consider the cost of shipping it is much easier for me to get everything from ND. I tried a couple of boston glass jars but with them bowing up on the bottom and the mouth of the jar coming in a bit the tiny ones weren't the right fit.

Good all purpose base. Best for stick-type lip balm tubes, its a bit too hard for tins and pots. It benefits greatly from a sweetner and flavor.

I was wanting a more natural lip balm for my customers, I think I finally found it!
I used zinc oxide in this base to make a sun protecting lip balm which first was really mushy. Once I let the tube sit overnight though, it was PERFECTLY SOLID in the morning!!!!
I love this base because it is not as soft, it holds up firmer than most bases!
What a GREAT product NDA!

The BEST lip balm! Very hydrating, imparts a subtle sheen, & when wearing it, it makes lips feel incredibly smooth/slippery (not even the least bit sticky!). I'm pleased to say my customers are just as thrilled with the product as I am! Works beautifully with the Tangerine 5-Fold essential oil.

There is a lot of ease to the use of this product, better than any base I have tried before. I use is as a natural product or zip it up with flavours and scents, my customers love the chocolate covered strawberry I developed! Kids love the cotton candy and bubblegum ones. Good going ND, love your products.

This is an excellent lip balm base. It moisturizes the lips better than any other big name lip balms, which is great for the winter time. The texture/consistency is probably thicker and softer than other lip balms; it feels like a cross between a cream and a lip balm. There is no scent, but it works great with fragrance oils (and maybe eos, but have not tried it yet). I added just a little bit of mango fragrance oil, and some pink mica to the base. It's a really luxurious product! Thank you for offering consistently quality, premium products, New Directions!!

My daughter is the lip balm maker in our house and she loves working with this base. It is thick so works well in filling the tub like balm containers. She adds a light flavor, some mica colorant in some, and some she leaves the natural color, and essential oils such as peppermint for that soothing feel. So easy to use and fun to try new creations! If you have a tween or teen who wants to get started in making product this is a great place to start!
