Hello! I use seaweed powder for one of my cold process soap recipes. It leaves your skin very soft. My family and customers simply love it. It has a strong low tide smell to it when you mix it in your oil however I use Lemongrass essential oil to perfume my soap (about 3 Oz of it for a 5 pounds batch of soap) and the smell it very invigorating. You still smell the seaweed in the background but it is now compounding with the Lemongrass to give an attractive smell.
When you mix it with your oil it turns to a pale shade of green, like avocado flesh. However after the gelling phase of the cold process it will turn a very dark, almost black green. You can make interesting swirls by keeping 1/3 of the batch before adding the seaweed and instead adding color. It tried with the emerald color, but it turned out to dark and hard to differentiate from the rest. Neon green or even neon yellow will give a very nice contrast

I didn't find the smell too strong and I think it's a must in body wraps or masks.

After my last rating, I found that when adding to soap as an experiment, it made add-ins, which sank before, suspend.

How could you not include seaweed into your skin care routine? It has nutrients and minerals and even has a slimming/toning effect on cellulite, not that I have any… who am I kidding?! NDA’s Seaweed Powder smells exactly how it should smell. It feels like I am basking along the shoreline at the beach. I haven’t tried my EOs with it, I wonder how they will blend together?

I incorporated this liberally as a facial and body mud. The resulting smell was stronger than I expect at first but after a while reminds me of seaweed salad at Japanese restaurants. Being Canadian made is a plus.

The smell is pretty strong, but it really works wonders! I use it as a facial masque with tea tree oil, glycerin, and avocado oil. My skin looks significantly purer/brighter afterwards, as good as after I got a $200 spa facial!

This seaweed powder is wonderful. I didn't find the smell strong at all, nice and mild. Mixed with dead sea mud and neroli floral water it made a very refreshing mask. I look forward to using it in other applications.

I really like this. I add it to my lotions and love that it offers such great qualities without any additives. Some companies sell a liquid extract that has other ingredients that I'm really not fond of.

I combine it with the Australian Pink clay for a mask and while it works great I just can't get past the smell! I add a couple of drops of essential oils to make it tolerable for me. It smells like seaweed should, it's a personal thing not a problem with the product.

It is a must for a face mask or body wrap. Provides the so needed minerals, vitamins, and amino acids for the skin. I like it combined with clay, so, I detoxify and feed my skin in the same time. I'll be back for some more!

I am a Spa Therapist Student. I recently ordered this product. And, have used it on a couple of my clients during my practical training and they were amazed at the results. I used this product for my practical doing a few Seaweed Body Wraps. I used Seaweed before and didn't care for the smell of it. New Directions Seaweed smells fresh and beautiful. My clients love this product. I would order from New Directions again.
I have to comment on the reliable customer service and fast shipping.
Thank you, New Directions. I would definately order from you again.
