Product Rating: 4.9/5 (As per 26 Customer Reviews)
Botanical Name: Jasminum sambac
Plant Part: Flowers
Extraction Method: Solvent Extraction
Description: Jasmine Sambac is a beautiful plant and its flowers bloom late in the evening unlike Jasmine Grandiflorum, which blooms in the early dawn.
Color: Dark brown yellowish liquid.
Common Uses: Jasmine is always in high demand for its exquisitely fragrant properties. It is a sensual blossom whose fragrance profile figures prominently in cuisine and exotic teas, but lends top notes to many of the world’s best perfumes. Because this is diluted in Jojoba Oil, it can be used as a simple or blended with other oils to make a purely natural perfume.
Strength of Aroma: Strong
Blends well with: Jasmine Sambac Absolute generally works with all oils. It helps to round out scents, and tends to work particularly well with other aphrodisiac oils (Sandalwood and Ylang-ylang are two great examples).
Aromatic Scent: Jasmine Sambac Absolute is an incredibly intense aroma that is very floral, yet more musky and masculine than the Jasmine Grandiflorum.
History: Since ancient times, Jasmine has been referred to as the King of oils (Rose is the Queen). It is also interesting to note that it takes 8,000 carefully hand-picked blossoms to produce 1 gram (about 1 ml.) of Jasmine Absolute.
Cautions: It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - becomes lost.

Rating: OMG!! This is the most beautiful smelling oil, and for a 3% dilution, it is out of this world! I am in love! The description says it is musky and masculine, but I have to disagree. Nothing but pure femininity in a bottle here. It is a beautiful, light and graceful scent.

Rating: This dilution smells wonderful! I use it in my handcrafted lotions blended with other floral EOs. Smells like a floral paradise in a bottle!
By:Stacey, Paris, Illinois Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 20-Nov-2011
Rating: I wanted to start playing with some of the pricier EOs, but was hesitant to try these dilutions - being very new to this, I figured that 3% was far too low to provide any real scent. WOW...was I wrong!!! What a beautiful, strong, sexy scent! It's my new favourite perfume...along with the other 3 dilutions I ordered. ;) Thank you!

Rating: Well after sampling all of the jasmine scents that newdirections offers, I am blown away by the Jasmine Sambac. My absolute favorite! I just put in an order for more and i can't wait for it to arrive! I use it by itself and by mixing it with my argan oil and using it in my hair. I also mix it in with my Palmers cocoabutter body lotion and it just adds to the scent and makes me smell great all day. Another way I'm using it is to make my own Musky Jasmine cologne....i also bought some musk ketones and after trial and error and finding a dissolvant for the ketones i've made a very nice blend that i love to wear everyday. This jasmine Sambac is by far the best Jasmine Scent ever!
Rating: Great scent! I will try to use it in my creams.

By:L.j., Calgary, Alberta Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: Jasmine Sambac is an absolutely gorgeous, heady, feminine, floral, sensual, sexy scent. When I use this either on its own or mixed with other oils I feel like a goddess ready to take on any man who comes on my path lol....seriously, it is a fabulous Jasmine and one of my absolute faves!

Rating: Beautiful scent! I love using this one in creams. Although it's a dilution it still has a good, strong scent.
By:Gwen, Burnaby, British Columbia Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: Gorgeous - Jasmine sambac reminds me of the jasmine often blended with green tea, so I have used this oil in tea scents. It's watery-smelling, not cloying. After buying the dilution, I don't think I will ever need to buy the pure stuff: as others have said, the relative fragrance strength of the 3% is amazingly equivalent to many pure essential oils, so it even works fine for blending.
Rating: When I first got this I was certain that I would prefer the jasmine grandiflorum, which has that true jasmine smell, but I LOVE this EO so much more. It has a more delicate, yet slightly spicier scent to it, and almost a hint of rose.

Rating: I'm really glad I purchased this as the 3% dilution. The scent is cloyingly strong. I was curious about it and was expecting it to be very light since it is a dilution but I was way wrong. I give it five stars because at 3% dilution it has a very strong scent and it smells just like you have a bunch of fresh jasmine under your nose.

Rating: This Jasmine takes my thoughts straight to the garden. It has a lush honey tone to it that adds just the right note to some of my creations. It is a heady, wonderful and affordable oil. It's a summer night in a bottle!

Rating: This oils is soooo good I love it I love it I absolutely love it. I love putting a few drops on when I go out I just feel so pretty. I also mix it with sweet orange eo at night and my hubby loves it to :-D. I'm very happy with this oil. I'm glad I bought it

Rating: I just want to jump inside the bottle!! This was my first experience in purchasing Jasmine and I am very happy with it. The price of Jasmine is expensive so, it was nice to test it out at such an affordable price. Thanks so much!!

Rating: I love this!!
I am so glad NDA carries 2 kinds of jasmine scent~
The grandiflorum is also very beautiful, more subtle and floral.
The Sambac is also flora, but I feel it's sweeter?
Loves both of the jasmines :)
By:Ivie, Toronto, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I love this smell. The 3% dilution is strong enough that the jasmine smell is noticable in CP soap. I have never been a fan of regular jasmine, but the sambac has a more subdued honey-like smell to me.

Rating: This is fabulous! I was, as others were, very shocked at the strength of this oil! I put 10 drops into a 4 ounce bottle of lotion for me and it is almost overpowering. I am considering rebottling it into two 4 ounce bottles and adding more unscented lotion, rofl. Very strong, intense jasmine aroma.

Rating: Ughhh! I absolutely love the scent of this night blooming jasmine! I prefer Jasminum Sambac which has a lush and wet scent to Jasminum Grandiflorum which is considered to be more flowery. In my EO perfume blend, this Jasmine balances the many sweet florals to give it a more rounded and complete aroma!
By:Christine, Burnaby, British Columbia Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I usually find jasmine too sweet and cloying, so this is a lovely way to use it! I like the fresher, less intense scent of the sambac jasmine compared to the grandiflorum.
By:Judith, Reisterstown, Maryland Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 26-Mar-2006
Rating: I adore the 3% dilutions. They are much stronger than I had anticipated and reasonably priced. A great way to include otherwise unaffordable scents in my formulations. I would love to see a larger variety offered in the future.
By:Karen, Spring Hill, Florida Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 04-Dec-2007
Rating: Absolutely LOVE the smell of this essential oil!! I can't keep my nose out of the bottle. Another lovely product. Thanks ND!!
By:Maggie, North York, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: This is just a divine scent! A little bit is all you need to mix in a lotion. I use it as a perfume oil, too. Does anyone know how to make the scent last longer?
By:Tily, Palo Alto, California Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 25-Sep-2006
Rating: Jasmine Sambac has an intense floral fragrance; smells just like the actual flower. But I don't think it is "musky and masculine."
By:Debra, Scarborough, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I like the 3% dilutions, it works just as wonderful as the other essential oils . And the price is great.
