Product Abstract:Cinnamomum verum originates from Sri Lanka. It is a tropical evergreen tree of the laurel family growing up to 15 m (45 feet) in the wild. The tree has a very thin smooth bark, with a light yellowish brown color and a highly fragrant odor. Its pleasant scent has lead it to be a perfect addition to creams, lotions and soaps.
Cautions: Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. This has phototoxic properties and exposure to the sun must be avoided after application to the skin.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: Smells just like the Red Hots candy. I'm super obsessed with this one. It is potent, just a little does the trick, and it covers up the smell of nutty oils and butters effortlessly.

Rating: Easy does it with this scent. I overpowered an 8oz bottle of chai blend with too much of this. Dialed it back and now it balances wonderfully. Lovin that price too!

Rating: Mmmmm...this is sweet and lovely! Such a warm, wild smell. Great in the diffuser, or personal blends. Slightly erotic. A little goes a long, looooong way!

Rating: As other reviewers have mentioned this smells a lot like Clove Bud Essential oil. It is very strong and could potentially be overpowering. All in all a great oil.
By:Sarah, Temecula, California Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 27-Sep-2013
Rating: Very different from what I am used to, but still a great oil. This one is deeper, very similar to Clove Leaf. A little bit goes a long way and it seems to mellow out after I add it, as part of a blend, to my products.

Rating: Powerful and pure. There is the slightest green-ness - I mean so slight in difference to cinnamon bark. But mostly it's a big sharp cinnamon. ND serves us so well! I love you guys!

Rating: This is absolutely one of my favorite EOs! It is wonderful in Christmas blends with Frankincense, Clove Bud, Orange and Black Pepper. Very easy to use for CP soap, scent holds exceptionally well.

Rating: Very nice oil, but to my nose it is more similar to clove bud. Very strong
By:Harry, Oreland, Pennsylvania Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 20-Sep-2012
Rating: I love this essential oil, it's not your typical cinnamon "type" scent, it's better, warm, rich and woody and it's strong and blends really well with clove leaf and sweet orange.
By:Lisa, Pellston, Michigan Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 03-May-2008
Rating: I like the sweetness of this Cinnamon Leaf. Not only that, it really lasts. I use it in cold process soap and as long as I work quickly, I don't have problems with seizing.
By:Cynthia, Mount Carroll, Illinois Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 08-Sep-2010
Rating: very strong essential oil. A little will go a long way. Reminds me of the cinnamon pine cones at Christmas tree shops.Holds true in cp soaps.

Rating: Very strong scent. Blends nicely with lavender 40/42 and patchouli dark for a more masculine scent in my cp soaps. Glad I made this purchase.

Rating: This scent is fantastic in CP soap. It's very strong so a little goes a very long way! I use this in several essential oil blends. A definite stocked oil in my supplies!

Rating: Almost minty in the bottle, with a touch of oranges in the cinnamon notes, like Constant Comment tea. Once it touches your skin, or a carrier oil, it evolves into the more familiar clove-y cinnamon note I desire in my perfume work. New Directions' has procured a fascinating oil, and one that requires a bit more experimentation than similar Cinnamon Leaf oils I've purchased elsewhere. Makes for a wonderful marriage with frankincense and something earthier, like patchouli, labdanum (my favorite), or myrrh.

Rating: I had not tried the cinnamon leaf oil before. Cinnamon & cassia are some of my favorite scents. The cinnamon leaf is very different from the ususal scent you associate with cinnamon, it has a strong, much more clove-like, & woody fragrance. I look forward to blending it with other spices & citrus.
Rating: I use this oil in cold process soap, lovely, you do not need a lof of EO and the scent is so powerfull!
but if you use it for cp soap, work fast! They soap will heat so do not cover your soap :)

Rating: This is an awesome cost-effective substitute for the more expensive spice oils. It has a sweet candy-like scent and blends wonderfully. Use it sparingly or it can overpower other aromas.

Rating: What a terrific scent! I include this in my floor cleaning blend (with other essential oils I purchase only from ND) and the blend leaves my floors beautiful and my whole house smelling terrific. I love finding alternatives to harsh chemicals! I bought the large bottle on this one because I use it so much!!!! Thanks ND for helping me find alternative ways to clean my house and better my family's air quality!

Rating: Smells like Red Hots. A very nice oil. I really like this, but will buy the bark next time as I wanted more of a spice scent and didn't read the decription correctly. That was my error thought not New Directions.
Rating: Wonderful oil, I use it in cp cinnamon-clove-orange recipe. It is by far my best seller!

Rating: I love this oil for a variety of reasons, one being it is safer than the cinnamon bark oil and its use in sensual blends...really adds a spicy warm feel. It can also be used for anorexia, anti fungal, stimulating childbirth contractions, chills, colds, debility, fear, frigidity, gum care, induces menstruation, infection, isolation, lice, loneliness, poor circulation, rheumatism, scanty periods, stress, warts, wasp stings. (Also known as Ceylon Cinnamon, Cinnamomum verum, Laurus cinnamomum, Madagascar Cinnamon, Seychelles Cinnamon, True Cinnamon.) this one is highly recommeded for quality and price.
