Colloidal Oatmeal is generally used in the bath as an additive to bath water, which moisturizes dry and problem skin, especially dry skin in children. This Colloidal Oatmeal is GMO-free and consists of key components such as beta glucan and avenanthramides, which acts as a natural, deep penetrating moisturizer that reduce the itching caused by dry skin.
The mucilage is gentle, and contains oil from the oat's germ. Because it is so gentle, up to 1 tablespoon in a baby's bath, to ½ cup in an adult's bath may be dispersed by adding it under the running tap.
Solubility: This is a USP pharmaceutical grade of superfine oat flour (200 mesh) which dissolves in water.
Shelf Life: Colloidal oatmeal has a shelf life of add 1 to 2 years with proper storage (store in well closed container away from moisture). Any unused product should be kept sealed in the original container to avoid contamination.

Rating: I'm a bit shocked to report that a beautiful product I make with this colloidal oatmeal causes skin reactions in more than half the people that use the product. I've put it through much testing, as well as changed the recipe 3 times, with the oatmeal being the only ingredient that remained the same, and all 3 recipes caused reactions in both my testing group, my trusted bloggers, and various customers who purchased the product. I also had a reaction a few times when testing on myself. I'm bummed - oatmeal is reported to have such soothing and calming effects, and the other feedback here for this is so good! Maybe I got a contaminated batch, but overall, I can no longer use it in my products. Too many reactions and customers afraid to use the product.

Rating: Very pleased with this product i must say. I first order this, with a mind of making dry facial clay mask and ordered 2.2lbs. What i like about his is that it is finely milled, more like a flour and is very versatile. I am also using it in my cold process soaps as well. This is to die for. you wont be disaapointed

Rating: This stuff is a life-saver! I had to have my ceiling repaired recently due to water damage, and in the process the repair man (we think) got into some fiber glass insulation. I was itching terribly ALL OVER before I knew it (it felt worse than the chicken pox), so I took a bath with a 1/2 cup of colloidal oatmeal and voila! disappearance of all itching. My boyfriend also commented on how soft my skin was later that night. I also use smaller amounts in face lotions and serum: it mixes easily and dissolves entirely. Colloidal oatmeal leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized without clogging my pores. It's great.
Rating: I love this colloidal oatmeal! It's super fine and does not leave a scratchy texture in the least in final formulations (I use in bath salts and cold process soap both). It also does not leave much of an aroma, which is ideal when I'm blending with essential oils. This also comes in a screw top HDPE plastic white jar with a wide lid, which is especially nice for keeping this fresh and easy to scoop out of. I wish I could give more stars!
