White Willow is a medium to large-sized deciduous tree native to Europe, western and central Asia. The underside of the leaves have a distinctive white tone which is the origin of its name. In 1829 its main active ingredient, salicin, was identified and resulted in the creation of the pain killer acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) years later.
Common Uses: The use of Willow dates back 6000 years. Ancient civilizations used White Willow Bark Extract for conditions associated with pain and inflammation. It is also a popular ingredient in skin care formulations where it is used to assist in managing the oiliness of the skin. It can be used as an exfoliant and as an astringent. White Willow Bark Extract is also believed to be an effective purifying agent and is used in preparations for tinctures, balms, soap, facial cleansers, creams, and lotions.

Rating: I just got delivery of this a d it look great based on the reviews however I'd like to know the solution percentage for dissolving. In the documentation it says 5 - 10ml however I'm not sure how much should go with the 5 - 10ml. Hoping to get a response

Rating: I love this extract!! Dissolves easily and incorporates perfectly into everything I've used it in. So far I've used it in toners, body wash and facial cleansers and it doesn't leave any residual feel when applied. I'm 49 years old and I still break out! I use this with some accompanying Salicylic Acid products I also make. (My skin is VERY resistant and needs a serious anti-acne regiment). It really works though! Wish I would have found this when I was in my 20's! Thanks NDA for offering so many great extracts at unbelievably fair prices!! Do hate the packaging though - zip lock baggies and fine powders don't play well.

Rating: Love this stuff!!! I use this to make an alcohol free acne toner with NDA's Lavender Floral Water & Alochol-free Witch Hazel. I rarely get pimples at my age, but I do have large black heads on my nose, and they are shrinking after using this twice a day for the last month. I don't know if the white willow bark will make them disappear completely, but at least my skin looks my prettier now when I go makeup free. I also used this on my son's leg when he scratched a bug bite, and it got infected. It cleared up the infection very quickly. Great Stuff!
Rating: I highly recommend this extract for many applications in skin care. I will continue to purchase as long as it is available!

Rating: Works wonders in my acne/facial products. I use it in my cp soaps too by adding it to the water phase. takes a while to blend but well worth the benefits.

Rating: Oh my, this is a new favorite for me! I added it at 0.5% to my facial moisturizer and I'm in love with the results. The gentle cleaning up of my pores has cleared my pimples and sped up the healing of older ones. Yay! The only downside is the fragrance.
