Description / Color / Consistency: A thin, colorless to pale yellow clear liquid.
Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: Cajeput Essential Oil has a fresh, camphorous aroma resembling the combined fragrances of camphor, rosemary, and cardamom, with a slight fruity note; a middle note with a medium strength aroma.
Product Abstract: Cajeput is a small tree with a soft, thick, spongy, ash-colored bark and scattered branches, with the slender twigs often drooping like the weeping willow (Salix babylonica). The leaves are from 3 to 5 inches long, and very aromatic when bruised. Cajeput being the Indonesian for 'white wood', it is part of the Melaleuca family and is used much in the same way as its cousin, Tea Tree.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: I am really digging cajeput. I always try to get a sample of something I have never smelled that is within my price point for adding to my inventory. I was skeptical about cajeput until I blended it with other EO's for cp soap. It complimented my citrus notes, helped to hold them better and did not accelerate or discolor my soap. It has an almost eucalyptus aroma that I very much like. Very easy to work with.

Rating: I am new to this oil and bought it at someone's recommendation for a beachy eo blend. So glad I ordered it. To me, it smells like a cross between a soft eucalyptus and tea tree... both mellowed out. It's very calming to me! I love NDA's prices so that I CAN try new oils!

Rating: I was just re-ordering this oil and remembered how great it is. I feel that tea tree is too much for me, this is just right, neat or otherwise I'm so amazed how smooth the scent is compared to other well known brands. For those of you that NEED tea tree but find it a bit to harsh this EO is the way to go. Thanks NDA for another winner

Rating: This is the first time I've ordered cajeput from anywhere, but I really like it. Not as 'in your face' as eucalyptus, but with similar congestion-clearing properties (evident at first whiff ;) lol). While I had bought it for use in salves for muscle and joint pain relief, I definitely won't ignore it during the winter cold/flu seasons!

Rating: I love cajeput, if only I could pronounce it! it smells a bit like eucalyptus but has the wonderful qualities of tea tree. I blend it with virginia cedarwood for a great invogorating, yet earthy scent

Rating: Wonderfully priced, all-purpose oil! Since essential oils are adaptogens, you can find "YOUR" oil--one that seems to work for you for practically everything, that works to balance your unique vibrational energy. I have found this to be one such oil for certain individuals.

Rating: Very bright, sharp smell, similar to eucalyptus, but with a richer and sweeter note.

Rating: Everyone else compares cajeput to tea tree oil, but I think it smells more like a milder eucalyptus globulus. I really enjoy it in the nebulizer when I'm stuffed up, and diluted in a carrier with pine and frankincense for a chest cough.

Rating: Cajeput is great in preparations for acne but is also quite affective in back muscle pain relief when blended with chamomile, roman and lavander.

Rating: Good value. Excellent substitute for tea tree when a more herbaceous scent is wanted.

Rating: So much like tea tree in it's applictions but a nicer, less medicinal smell. I'd rather use it in a blend for massage or burning, and it's nicer on the skin/face.

Rating: I have been shopping around for a better priced essential oil supplier, as my previous supplier was very expensive. I am thrilled to have found New Directions Aromatics !! I am now hooked and I was able to offer my customers even lower prices due to the prices here! Their packaging is also amazing !
I hope that they can offer cajeput in 500 ml quantities or more because this is one oil I sell a lot of. I wanted to make a correction to the post that said cajeput is used as an antibacterial mixer in our henna paste (as this is not it's true purpose).
Cajeput is used as what we call a "terp", which darkens the henna stain when mixed into the henna paste. The color results will be even darker then without "terps" (essential oils such as cajeput etc., which darken the henna paste).
Using essential oils known as "terps" are the best way to go when making henna paste for a darker stain result. Other essential oils may be added for scent.

Rating: Wonderful immune-boosting oil. CAJEPUT or Melaleuca cajeputi is also known as the White Tea Tree and Swamp Tea Tree it is often confused with True Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), and Niaouli (Melaleuca viridiflora). I use it for aches and pains, acne, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, cystitis, fire ant bites, insect stings, oily skin, rheumatism, sinus congestion, spots, urinary & viral infection. (Also known as Cajuput, Melaleuca leucadendron, Melaleuca minor, Paperbark Tree, Punk Tree, White Wood.) Also widely used as an antiseptic mixer in Henna Tattooing. Henna = the Egyptian Privet = Lawsonia inermis. This is a great quality oil, highly recommended.
