Product Abstract: A perennial, reed-like herb, Cardamom grows wild and is cultivated in India and Sri Lanka. It grows up to 4 meters (13 feet) and has long green silky blades, small yellowy flowers, with a violet tip, and a large fleshy rhizome, similar to ginger. Oblong gray fruits follow the flowers, each containing many seeds. Cardamom was well known in ancient times. The Egyptians used it in perfumes and incense, and the Arabs used it ground in their coffee. The seeds are an important ingredient in Middle Eastern and Asian cooking.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with the eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: Beautiful oil. At first it'spicy without sweetness then after 30 seconds to breath on your skin or a bit of paper it becomes a "clean linen, fresh air" type smell.

Rating: Cardamom! I am in love with the fragrance of this oil. It blends beautifully with bay and just a drop of light patchouli. It's bright and invigorating. I use it in my diffusers. It elevates my mood instantly. The price point is very good. I'll try the organic next time. I can see myself going through my 15 ml bottle very quickly.

Rating: One of the best essential oils I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Spicy, sweet, minty--there is no way to describe cardamom. Delectable, tasteful, complex, interesting. It smells exactly like cooking or baking with cardamom.

Rating: This is very spicy and great in an oriental blend. The down side is that it's so strong that it can easily overpower lighter scents, so I recommend diluting it before use unless you're using A LOT of other EOs. Otherwise, this has become a staple of mine in adding a spicy note to a variety of different oil blends.

Rating: Used this oil with some lemongrass to scent a beer based CP soap. Awesome masculine scent. Love it!
By:Amy, Sept-Iles, Quebec Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I give this Cardamom 4 stars for two reasons. Firstly, the price is astronomical compared to other sources. That is, NDA offer's Indian cardamom which is more than double the price of Guatemalan cardamom. Secondly, Guatemalan cardamom, although cheaper is surprisingly much smoother, sweeter, and stronger. That being said, you still can't go wrong with Indian cardamom.

Rating: I love this cardamom. It is warm, spicy, and sexy. I make a spiced milk & honey soap with it, combined with cinnamon and clove, and it is exotic and Goddess-y. My belly dancing customers love it!
Rating: Mmm... Cardamom and Rose together in a perfume with other EOs with aphrodisiacal properties. The spicy fragrance compliments the other scents beautifully and adds a sensual and earthy element to the blend. Cardamom EO will definitely become a permanent ingredient of my perfume.
P.S. It works like magic in attracting the opposite sex. Be careful ladies!

By:Stephanie, Burlington, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: This essential oil is very common in perfumery, used by chanel paris' retired perfumer, Mr.Beaux, in the classic scent 'chanel' pour monsieur. The scent is slightly reminiscent of apples. Very strong, good quality. The scent is not as sweet and amazing as some find to my nose. The quality is superb, and the price is fair. If you like cardamom, this is for you.
By:Sherif, Scarborough, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I love the spicy warming scent of cardamom, you are probably familiar with the seeds as they may be found in any supermarket spice rack. It is non-toxic and non-irritant but with possible sensitization in some individuals. Use for anorexia, colic, cramp, dyspepsia, flatulence, griping pains, halitosis, heartburn, indigestion, mental fatigue, morning sickness, nervous strain, vomiting. (Also known as Cardamomi, Cardomom, Cardomum, Ellettaria cardamomum variety cardamomum, Mysore Cardomom.) I love to use it for massage blends as it is a wonderful warming oil. This one is high quality and recommended for any aromatherapist.
