b-Himachalene: 29-52%

Plant Part: Wood

Origin: Morocco

Processing Method: Steam Distilled

Description / Color / Consistency: A thin, golden yellow to orange or brown liquid.

Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note of strong aroma, Cedarwood Atlas Oil has a woody, sweet, scent that is sharper than Virginian Cedarwood, and slightly reminiscent of mothballs.

Blends With: Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Cassia, Jasmine, Juniper, Neroli, Labdanum, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang.

Product Abstract: Cedarwood is a pyramid-shaped majestic evergreen tree, which grows up to 131 ft. high. The wood itself is hard and strongly aromatic because of the essential oil it contains, which is obtained by steam distillation. Originating in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa, linen chests were frequently crafted from Cedar. The ancient Egyptians prized the oil, mostly for embalming purposes, but also for cosmetics and perfumery, and Solomon's Temple was built with Cedar Wood. Today, closet liners and accessories are frequently crafted from Cedar, and the oil is currently used in commercial soaps, cosmetics and perfumes, especially men's colognes.

Note: Our Cedarwood Atlas essential oil is from a sustainable source.

Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Great cedarwood atlas! It's one of my faves because it has a different smell to it than most cedar Woods, I'm not sure how to explain it other than it might be slightly sweeter. It smells spot on to the ones that I have bought from different companies only the price is way better!

When I first bought this essential oil a couple weeks ago I did not like smell at first But it is starting to grow on me the more I use it. At first it has a very sharp mothball smell but once that fades it has that very Cedar like ,sweet Woody smell and is very pleasant. Next time I order I will be trying out the other varieties to compare them to this.

Does not smell like Cedarwood, it has an acrid and offesnsive aroma. Perhaps the one I received had spoiled.

Ive tried the Himalayan, Atlas and Virginian varieties, this isn't bad but to me it just smells far to similar to the Himalayan which is a fraction of the price. The only difference my nose can detect is this one is a little more subtle and less sweet than the Himalayan, i personally would save my money for the Himalayan or Virginian, my personal favorite but certainly not a bad oil by any means.

Five stars!! One of the best investments I ever made! The men love it - it has a beautiful deepness of a shaded glen to it, without being bitter or overpowering.

Wonderful cedarwood mixes well with benzoin to create a sandalwood alternative (sandalwood being too expensive for personal cosmetic use). I also mix it with geranium oil for a rosewood-y type scent. Your oils smell so wonderful, and my husband (who has asthma and cannot be around perfume), has become a fan of these scents too. I'm telling my friends about your site so they can make their own cosmetic blends as well.

Cedarwood is my most favorite EO. I first tried the Himalayan Cedarwood and it was love at first sniff. I saw that most people seemed to prefer Atlas but I thought why buy that when I adore cedar deodora and have a ton of it. Well I finally gave in as the price is excellent at NDA and I actually find that it smells almost identical, to me. Atlas is a bit more bold perhaps but all in all I cannot tell much of a difference. I now love both.

Cedarwood EO will age to a graceful and complex woody sweet smell over time. It is uber light and delicate in CP soap but blends well with other woodsy scents and oddly, with fennel essential oil.

I love this oil. It is one of my favorites. I have tired other cedarwoods and found the scent to be much too strong. This one is perfect. Just the right amount of scent to ground the lighter smelling EOs but not to where they overpower them. I especially love this during the cold winter months.

True Atlas Cedar aroma with buttery wood notes and that haunting, almost eerie, fruity/incense note so many find pleasant. I use this in elixirs for troubled skins and in perfumery. Works wonderfully with a little galbanum and a blend of deep coniferous notes: cypress, pine, and a drop of olibanum. Lovely!

Wow! This definitely has the mothball, cedar closet affect! I did not detect much of a sens e of sweetness. Sharp and strong. Perhaps mixed with a citrus to tone it down. I am a cedarwood freak! This was the least favorite of the bunch I tested. However, I am looking for something earthy and sweet to use on the body.

The scent on this has had to grow on me a bit. At first whiff I was very skeptical. However, it has grown on me quite a bit. I look forward to seeing how it ages. Beyond that - which may just be personal preference - I was thrilled to get my oil! So far, so good with the quality/service!

Fantastic price for a very nice oil. This is a true cedar, not a juniper or a thuja. It's milder and sweeter than many other cedars and serves nicely to enhance and extend some of the more expensive woodies and resins. It also blends really well with citruses, herbals, and florals. Don't be put off by the low price: this is a quality oil.
