Product Abstract: The Virginia Cedarwood is a slow-growing, coniferous evergreen, reaching heights of 33 metres. It has a reddish heartwood and bears brown cones. Originally used by native North Americans, Cedar is an important ornamental and timber tree of eastern North America whose fragrant wood is made into cabinets, fence posts, and pencils.

This Cedarwood blends beautifully. I have found that it does stay true in CP soap making and the fragrance does not morph.

This Cedarwood is great for adding a bit of a woodsy tone to summer/ outdoor blends. It's my favorite. Planning to also add into my Christmas woodlands blend.

I like this oil, it's not headache inducing and it smells so much better than the cedarwood Chinese, which doesn't actually smell like cedarwood to me at all. It doesn't smell like a cedar chest and that is okay, I am not looking for that, I am looking for something that smells a bit more woodsy, like the cedar growing in the woods behind my house. I am excited about trying this one in a couple of different blends.

Maybe it's good in blends, but I'm not a fan of the straight oil at all. It smells exactly like a hamster cage to me. I was hoping for a deeper, richer, woody note. This is very light and fresh.

I just received this oil today and am amazed by the smell of it. It smells like the inside of my cedar chest. Can't wait to use it in my bug spray. I will be buying virginian over atlas to sell in my business.

I agree with the many reviewer below, if your like me you may have tried Cedarwood Himalayan or Atlas and while they smelled fine this is the one i imagined what i wanted cedarwood it to smell like, a true lumber yard or forest. The other two have a more sharp, spicy and even sweet aroma, the Atlas smells just like a more subtle Himalayan to me and costs a lot more, both lacked the pure woodsy smell i was desiring. The Himalayan is a lot cheaper and is great in blends but alone this is the cedarwood virginian is now what prefer most out of the three Ive tried.

When you think of Cedarwood, such as what you might line your closet with to repel moths, or a warm woody scent that makes you smile and feel awake, this is the quintessential "Cedar" aroma. I have samples of all the Cedarwood essential oils and this is the one I will use to create a forest from a candle.

10 Stars. My holy grail of Cedar!!! I have searched for a long time for a true woodsy cedar scent. I have tried several companies and different kinds of cedar only to be disappointed. They all had a weird, kind of sweet but a sickly, medicinal and not a good sweet. I use it for massage and steam. It is soooo nice. My happy place.

This went over well in my Cold Processed soap, as well as a body spray too! I have also used in in my hair, which is naturally oily, and it has helped decrease oiliness!

Years ago, I spent countless hours making carvings from eastern red cedar(juniperus virginiana) and when I opened the bottle of cedar Virginia the transportation was immediate and total. I could almost feel my carving knife in my hand. The scent is absolutely true to freshly carved cedar.

This has a lovely, woody essence with some bite. It is very good in blends that want a more earthy tone. It does have a bit of sharpness to it, but not overwhelmingly so.

Very strong, I can see it working well with blends but I would never use it on its own. Smells a lot like the musty moth ball/cedar chest to me.

A great cedarwood this one can stand on its own in a simple mint blend. I also like it blended with fir needle, oakmoss and a touch of rosemary. Thanks NDA!

I use this cedarwood in many blends, very useful oil, and this one is great quality. This cedarwood is a possible ABORTIFACIENT. Do not use if pregnant. It is very similar to Texas Cedarwood. Use for acne, arthritis, bronchitis, congestion, coughs, eczema, greasy hair, insect repellent, nervous tension, oily skin, psoriasis, rheumatism, sinusitis. (Also known as Bedford Cedarwood Oil, Eastern Red Cedar, Red Cedar, Southern Red Cedar.) Closely related to the East African Cedarwood, Juniperus procea.
