Product Abstract: The small bushy shrubs grow at altitudes ranging from 8800 to 15,400 feet in the Himalayas. A juniper berry is the female seed cone produced by the various species of junipers. It is not a true berry but a cone with unusually fleshy and merged scales, which give it a berry-like appearance. The berries are green when young, and mature to a purple-black color over about 18 months. The berries are plucked from the branches of the plant once a year, and dried and ground before distillation. They have traditionally been used as an aromatic aid to meditation, and had remedial applications.

Rating: Juniper is my second fave EO. I love that you have the different types of Juniper berry so I can compare and can make the same blends with a new twist. Because of you NDA I'm able to learn that I prefer Slovenian over Indian Juniper Berry EOs. Thanks for all the useful information that helps us make better choices.

Rating: ok, smell is pretty bad, BUT I used it with seaweed and witch hazel to make a paste and I rubbed it over hips, back side, and stomach, and legs, and sat in a dry bath tub for a while, and then filled the tub and soaked. I felt hot and tingle from the juniper oil, and then I wondered if I had done something wrong. Next day, BIG REDUCTION IN CELLULITE!!!!! I have a business called Dieting Diva TNT, about weight loss and I am going to include beauty products. This will be a top seller because it works. Juniper oil also helps with aches and pains so its great to add to a massage oil, or in a bath. Great Stuff, Bad smell, but worth it!!!!!!

Rating: This version of juniper berry essential oil is much more "piney" than I'd expected, almost reminiscent of turpentine. It wasn't even close to the juniper berry I'm used to which has a distinct, sweet top note. It doesn't work with the juniper recipes I use, so I won't be purchasing this item again.

Rating: This smells exactly how you'd expect. I bought it for its medicinal properties, to be used in combination with sage and marjoram in a nose spray to fight sinus infection.

Rating: I have to agree - it's not that juniper 'gin' scent, but it's really great. Herbal and green. I plan to use this with some Siberian Fir and Katafray in a bath!

Rating: Not quite the extreme gin scent i was hoping for, its a bit different. However this does have a very rich smell and blends splendidly with eucalyptus and pine or other "masculine scents". It collaborate to make a wonderful male's cologne.

Rating: I love this oil! I use it in salt scrubs for my thighs and it helps tone the look of cellulite. It also has a very uplifting scent that I like to add to citrusy scents. Definitely will order again!

Rating: A great oil with a slight hint of Gin. I have purchased this several times, and I keep it in stock.

Rating: This oil has a very rich woody, pine-needle scent that can be considered masculine. It's not exactly an oil one would want to perfume themselves with, but it has great therapeutic value that would work well in synergy blends.
The oil is reputed for hair loss--alopecia. It's great for inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatism, gout and arthritis. So give it a try if you have swollen joints. The oil is also considered an astringent, so it's great for oily skin.

Rating: I never knew what Juniper Berry smelled like. Glad I purchased it, because it has a very pleasant & clean smell that takes be back to my childhood. Perhaps it was in a cleaning solution. But I really like it. Will definitely purchase a larger size.

Rating: I had the same experience as one of the other reviewers, although I liked the fragrance from the start. But it wound up sitting for at least 6 months and the scent mellowed and improved. It works wonderfully in an aftershave I make, or just to use in a defuser to fresh and clean the air.

Rating: Coniferous and fruity in equal measure, with woody notes that lend grace to "forest-y" fragrances. Therapeutically, try using this as a spot treatment for pimples or in facial cleansers to detoxify, perhaps with some grapefruit, tea tree, and Atlas cedarwood.

Rating: I bought this juniper berry oil some time last year, or maybe earlier. At first, I didn't really care for the smell, and I can't recall exactly what it smelled like before. After all this time, the aroma has changed. It smells like the real juniper berries that I chewed on while in the Arizona desert - fragrant, black pepper-ish, sweet, balsamic, and woody, but much lighter in strength. I just bought the organic juniper berry eo from Bulgaria, and I will let it sit for a while to see if it changes to this.

Rating: Not a fan, it's much more herbal than I hoped for, it's nice just not what I was looking for. It also didn't seem to hold up in cp soap either.

Rating: Very woody smell. I think this smells just like the trees in my grandmothers yard. I would have been disapointed if it had be a floral scent.
By:Chloe, Waterloo, Iowa Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 28-Jun-2009
Rating: For some reason I was thinking this would smell more like rose- or a floral smell, but it doesn't. It still smells good but don't expect a floral scent.
By:Leslie, Lexington, Kentucky Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 14-May-2009
Rating: This oil is a tad more acidic smelling than other juniper oils I have used from other countries. I blended it with some benzoin and found the gin smell to be neutralized quite nicley in my forest potpurri.
Rating: I was surprised at how unisex this scent seems...I had thought it would smell more floral..not that I'm complaining, mind you! I'm thrilled that men and women love this scent and it's a wonderful combination of earthy tones with bright sweetness.

Rating: Excellent quality! Light and fresh - it has a woody, peppery, pine aroma. Nice astringent properties for the skin and hair and incredible in anti-cellulite blends. Highly recommended!

Rating: Fresh and head-clearing, this EO smells exactly like the berries from my mother's juniper bush. A bit of a gin quality.
