Rating: I am not a fan of patchouli, but this is fantastic. The scent is earthy as described, but not in the stinky hippy kind of way. I actually want to keep smelling this over and over again. Added to lemongrass and lavender and bam, perfection.

Rating: NDA you have cornered the market on the true meaning of " quality product at an affordable price". Ive been buying Patch for 30 years so I can say this with confidence.. This EO is wonderful - rich and deep. What a price too. If you are a real patchouli lover that collects and stores it like wine, this one is a must have for your collection. Only draw back is better buy two one to use and one to age, otherwise you will be dipping into your stash way to often cuz this one really doesn't need any more time as is. Can you imagine how lovely it will be later.

Rating: 10 STARS!!!!! I have purchased Patchouli from 5 different companies and this is the best. On my counter, I have different bottles of patchouli from different companies and the best and richest scent is the NDA's brand. Therefore, if you are looking for real Patchouli EO, NDA has the best!
Rating: Deep. rich scent that our customers can't get enough of. Love the quality of this Patchouli EO! Thanks NDA!

Rating: I'm a huge fan of patchouli essential oil. I have purchased patchouli oils from all over the world but NDA offers the most intoxicating scent of patchouli I have ever bought. I couldn't even get such quality from Indonesia. This product is absolutely amazing!
Rating: I am huge Patchouli Essential Oil fan and so aren't our customers. This dark one is our favorite by far. Works great in hot process and lotions and candles.

Rating: I am new to patchouli and I am not too fond of the earthy smell, but mixed with blood orange and orange 5-fold in CP soap, it provides a deep and lovely scent.
By:Silvia, Riverside, California Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2013
Rating: Wonderful, strong, rich fragrance from this dark patchouli. It doesn't smell too great out of the bottle (even in dilution), but on exposure to air, it transforms into a rich and earthy smell. I suspect this is why people say that Patchouli gets better with age. In hot or cold process soap, however, you need not age it in the bottle since the finished bars age while exposed to air. A few days is enough. Blends fantastically with sweet orange 5-fold.

Rating: Absolutely the MOST AMAZING and lovely Patchouli I have smelled in 30 years! The first whiff I got of it took me back to the first time I smelled a REALLY good, expensive Patchouli and fell totally in love with it... just fabulous! Smells wonderful in my CP soap and blends well - sticks very well in CP soap too - quite long-lasting, and a little goes a long way. I need less of this oil than I do of most other essential oils when soapmaking, as it is a good strong scent. (Love it as a perfume and in various other things I make for myself - I LOVE a good Patchouli!) I am SO glad I took a chance on the 16 oz bottle - I only dared because of the many excellent reviews that gave me the confidence to try it. I consider myself to be somewhat of a Patchouli connoisseur, since it has been my favorite essential oil and only "perfume" I've used for nearly 35 years, and this is definitely among the best I've ever come across. (I'm reviewing the "Dark" Patchouli)
Rating: This is hands down, the best Patchouli at the best price. It blends nicely and is fantastic on its own. Earthy, fruity and fabulous. Patchouli soap and lotion blended with sandalwood and vanilla are my biggest sellers...thank you, thank you, thank you NDA! I love this stuff :)))

Rating: Probably my favorite all time EO, definitely a stable base note due to the general good price and blending versatility. Just used some in my CP soap along with sweet basil and cedarwood and im excited to see how well it retains the smell. Haven't tried the light version but i am so content with the dark i see no need. Gotta love the woody, earthy and mysterious smell of patchouli!

Rating: Excellent product. It smelled kinda nasty right out of the bottle, but I used it in a sandalwood blend in some cone incense I made, and they turned out fantastic!

Rating: I am both happy with this product and repurchasing it now. Works well in my CP soap.

Rating: I almost bought this several times and am glad I finally did! The smell is earthy and natural. I'm going to mix it with a touch of blood orange to bring out the citrus. Good buy!

Rating: What a great price! I have used this in CP soap and it holds up well. I've also used it in other bath products and it never disappoints. I really like the earthy, sweet smell.
Rating: I made a luxurious face cream the day I received this splendid oil and the result has been remarkable! It keeps my poor winterized skin moist without looking slimy and even avoided my monthly Breakout! Three cheers for ND's fabulous dark patchouli!:-)
By:Tiffany, Morrisville, Pennsylvania Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2012
Rating: LOVE this patchouli! It is sweet, rich and complex! I purchased one from another company and so regret doing so. I will not make that mistake again! Thanks NDA! This one is da bomb!
Rating: This patchouli oil is exactly what it should be. It smells of damp soil and dried twigs. I love it"

Rating: Love it! I used to order my patchouli from a store in my area, I loved the smell but it was ridiculously expensive. New Directions Aromatics gave me the exact Patchouli that I needed, with a great price. So happy! Will buy more for sure!
Rating: NDA is the only place I have ever bought Patchouli and I love it, I still have one of the first bottles I've purchased from here 5 yrs ago and it is true, Patchouli only gets better with age, it's deeper, smokier, rich and earthy, I save my aged oil for the special products and I just bought another bottle for everyday blending. It really "fixes" your scent blends and is amazing with amber, vanilla, sandalwood, rose and lavender blends. I will always have this oil on hand.
By:Lisa, Pellston, Michigan Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2008
Rating: A bit of a cliche smell, but blended with other oils it can really bring things together. Deliciously earthy. I will always keep buying this one.
Rating: This is the most wonderful patchouli I have ever used! It has aged nicely and smells even better than when I first opened the bottle. Blends wonderfully with other oils and performs suberb in my CP soap! Thank you NDA for a superior product and making it so cost-effective for the (very) small soap maker!
Rating: Patchouli Dark was my first purchase from NDA. My intent was to find a thick, earthy pachouli and this is it! I've put it in shampoo, conditioner, skin moisturizer, my vacuum, in the dryer in place of dryer sheets and my husband practically rolls in it. Unless the composition changes severely, I will not purchase this oil anywhere else. I had no idea except by reading reviews that this oil is purported to relieve skin ailments - doesn't matter, the smell to me is so grounding it doesn't have to do anything else.
Rating: Very nice quality oil. I don't personally love the smell of it, but my sister does. It acts as a good base for blends that need to be rounded out a little more. It's also known to anchor and extend the scent of citrus oils.
By:Steven, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2011
Rating: Whoa! This oil is fantastic! Compared to other Patchouli E.O.'s I've used before, this one is so much thicker and I can tell that it is truly natural and not synthetic like the others. NDA will always be my favorite website for purchasing my ingredients!
By:Bri, Santa Rosa Beach, FloridaDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2011
Rating: This definitely has an earthy smell!! I love it! In the middle of winter it reminds me of playing in the garden and the dirt. Mmmmm! Highly recommend if you want an earthy base.

Rating: My first patchouli and I love it! I can't compare it to light patchouli, but I really love it! I'd much rather use essential oils than synthetic fragrances, but I often struggle to find essential oils and essential oil combos that I'm 100% pleased with. I'm not crazy about either patchouli or lavender on their own, but put them together and it's perfect!
By:Andrea, Katy, Texas Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2011
Rating: This patchouli is amazing! I love its deep, earthy, spicy, piquant scent, and I simply can't get enough of it. It's great with lavender, and does wonders to offset the sweetness of more floral scents like ylang ylang. I look forward to seeing how the scent matures over time. It's definitely worth getting 100mL instead of 15mL--you'll find uses for it!
Rating: Love this Patchouli oil. I just made CP soap with it and the scent is

Rating: I LOVE this Patchouli...it is deep and earthy. It blends well with so many other essential oil and is very healing to mind and body alike. Another great, reasonably priced EO from NDA. Thanks!

Rating: This Patchouli is so deep and rich....I've used other patchouli's that need time to age before they even smell like patchouli. This one will give my lotions, body butters and shampoos the earthiness right away and will deepen even further ... Absolutely Fabulous !!!

Rating: I thought this dark patchouli would be thicker, but regardless, I love the smell and it's doing an amazing job of shrinking those mystery balls of I-don't-know-what They are like cysts, I suppose, that show up on the hands and wrists. Overnight one large and rather painful one showed up on the top of my hand, and it was BIG. I immediately started rubbing this lovely scented patchouli, neat on the area, and in less than 2 weeks, it has shrunk to half it's size and is no longer painful. I sometimes combine it with some lavender neat, as I understand that both can do something for these cyst-like creatures that appear on the hands and wrists. I wasn't sure it would work, but seeing is believing. I see there's an organic patchouli out now too. I must try that as well, as order another bottle of the dark, so I can let it age a little. But I'm still waiting on the South African lavender to reappear before I place another order.
Rating: Love this patchouli, the price is right too. I use this in most every mixture of mine.......Time to restock!

Rating: A fantastic value for this type of oil! On its own, it is *very* musky and earthy, but in a good way. Though I'll use it straight in my Dr. Bronner's liquid soap, I also like to feminize it and turn it into a homemade "perfume" by wearing 3 drops mixed with either NDA rose or jasmine fragrance oil (2 drops of one or the other) mixed on my wrists, then dotted where ever else (usually neck, decolletage, insides of elbows, under the arms, etc.) I want to smell good. And let me tell you, whenever I wear this concoction, I receive TONS of compliments. In the last month alone, I have given three complete strangers NDA's Web site info so they could order their own as they were that taken by this oil's fragrance.

Rating: At first when I smelled this it was not one of my favorites, but I have grown to love this scent, it has an exotic aroma to it ,
And I find it to blend well with other EO 's such as Ylang Ylang, and especially Sweet Orange
Rating: I really dont like Patchouli but I got this EO to use in certian oils. This one pleased me though, I am not sneezing. Normally I sneeze non stop from the overpowering scent this seems to have. This isn't to bad.
By:Chloe, Waterloo, Iowa Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 2009
Rating: I found this to be a very strong patchouli. Nice, true patchouli aroma, but be careful because it will overpower your blends. I really like this oil but will be using it more in moderation.

Rating: "You smell great!" I get that a lot, and I have a feeling this Patchouli Dark has little something to do with it! As wonderful as it smells, I use it for skin care, and I'm just as pleased with those results as I am with the aroma!

Rating: I can still remember the very first time I ever smelled patchouli. I was smitten! It continues to be one of my very favourite scents and I have worn it for years. The New Directions Patchouli Dark is wonderful, deep and rich. Perfect strangers have come up to me and asked, "What are you wearing? I love it!"
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who loves that great Summer of Love scent!

Rating: I have 2 bottles of this wonderful oil. One is a bottle from a year and a half ago, well aged in the back of a friend's pantry and the other is fresh, purchased in February of this year. This Patchouli is rich and smokey. Not quite the gorgeous deep chocolate note that you get from some Patchouli's, but much more murky and smokey. Quite lovely :) The aged patchouli has intensified and deepened both the characteristic patch smell and the smoke. Good, but could be better :)
Rating: I love the scent on its own but the beauty of Patchouli comes from its ability to enhance so many other essential oils and make the perfect blends. I am a cold process soaper among other things and Patchouli lends its staying power to blends through that process. I have yet to have a customer with eczema whom did not respond to the powers of patchouli in various combinations in creams and balms. Of course the fact that it is the only oil that I know of that improves with age versus disipating makes it my first choice oil. New Directions does have the best prices for this high quality oil. If I could rate it excellent + I would.
Rating: I can't say enough wonderful things about this product. I used it in my Christmas M&P soaps and everyone RAVED about them! It has such a delicious, earthy, yet sweet smell. It is a very complex aroma that will pleasantly surprise you every time you use it. I blended it with lavender with very good results. This is an extremely high quality oil. I wouldn't buy it anywhere else!

Rating: This is the most wonderful smelling patchouli I've ever had the pleasure of smelling! Deep with woody tones, and when combined with rosewood lavender or ylang ylang... ah! definitely not a cheap hippie smell!
Rating: I got this last year and just soaped with it again. what a great scent.

Rating: This is such high quality oil, people who thought they did Not like Patchouli are absolutely loving this scent ! I absolutely love it and I'm glad I bought the larger bottle!
