Our Citric Acid is derived from corn and sugar beets through natural fermentation, and is GMO free. It is an excellent antioxidant and exfoliant, and it can be used as part of a product’s preservative system by altering the pH levels. Citric Acid is also the most widely used organic acidulate, probably because it is classified as a weak acid.
When applied to hair, Citric Acid opens up the cuticle allowing for deeper penetration of the cleaning agents. It is generally not recommended if you have any artificial hair coloring done, unless you are trying to strip the color out. It can also be used in shampoo.

Directions For Use: Use up to 30% in bath bombs. As a pH adjuster, add 0.1% at a time until the required pH is achieved.

Rating: I bought citric acid from here because I had ran out of the citric acid I had bought from another on line sp and beauty place. This by far was the best I have ever used. I use it for my bath bombs and it does not clump like the other did from the other place I got it from. It is very fine and soft and easy to work with. I made better bath bombs with this then the other stuff. I am sticking with you guys for my citric acid.

Rating: This saved me from quitting bath bombs altogether. It's not a crystal, more like a powder and mixes seamlessly with the baking soda. I don't use any witch hazel, or water, rather an oil mix, and it grabs onto everything and takes color well. I will never go back to the frustration of crystals again.

Rating: Just got my citric acid today and can't believe how fine and beautiful it is! I cannot wait to make some bath bombs with it. I used to buy citric acid from a soap store here in Toronto but it was so coarse that I used to have to grind it in a coffee grinder before I used it.
Also, Tiffany was incredibly helpful and shipped my order a little earlier because I was worried I wouldn't get it in time for the workshop I'm running!
I'll be using New Directions Aromatics for all my soap and bath bomb making needs!

Rating: I decided to make my very first bath bombs today using the Citric Acid that I purchased from NDA. It is a very fine, white powder, not lumpy or clumpy, that was very easy to mix. While I expected the small fizzy bubbles, I was surprised and delighted to see some really large bubbles fizzing from the first bomb I tried. I used the Red Currant and Thyme Tea Fragrance Oil from NDA and it was very crisp and refreshing, liked iced tea with a fruity overtone. Another great product from New Directions!
