Description: Jasmine Sambac is a beautiful plant; its flowers bloom late in the evening unlike Jasmine Grandiflorum that blooms in the early dawn.
Color: Dark brown yellowish liquid.
Common Uses: Jasmine Sambac Absolute has a sensual, soothing fragrance that promotes a sense of harmony.
Consistency: Thick
Note: Middle
Strength of Aroma: Strong
Blends well with: Jasmine Sambac Absolute generally works with all oils. It helps to round out scents, and tends to work particularly well with other aphrodisiac oils (Sandalwood and Ylang-ylang are two great examples).
Aromatic Scent: Jasmine Sambac Absolute is an incredibly intense aroma that is very floral, yet more musky and masculine than the Jasmine Grandiflorum.
History: Since ancient times, Jasmine has been referred to as the King of oils (Rose is the Queen). Apparently this is because Jasmine is the most masculine of all the floral oils. It is also interesting to note that it takes 8,000 carefully hand-picked blossoms to produce 1 gram (about 1 ml.) of Jasmine Absolute.
Cautions: It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - becomes lost.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: Only a fan of Jasmine would recognize this as such because it doesn't smell like Jasmine flowers directly, but only once it evanesces in the air. As compared to NDA's Grandiflorum, which smells more conventionally jasmine, the Sambac is dark, rich, and fruity. A beautiful Sambac. I think it should be used in combination with other oils and also only in small quantities. Undiluted, it smells more like over-ripe fruit than florals. This Sambac has a beautifully complex and rich scent -- so much so that it is borderline offensive just by itself or in the bottle. But it is true to that jammy, fruity, super sweet, slightly sour, indolic, rich, almost even a little boozy, opulent midnight kind of jasmine. It's sexy and carnal and challenging... but in a good way. I really love it, and I personally much prefer Grandiflorum. I'll be using a 5-to-1 ratio of Grandiflorum to Sambac to get my favorite version of jasmine. Well worth the price, I think. But I haven't used it in soaps or cosmetics, just as perfume and a bit of skincare.

Rating: Wow. I splurged for my birthday with the 1/2 oz. Out of the bottle it smells exactly like my sambac flowers. It's thick, but liquid enough to work with without having to heat it. I just made a 3% dilution perfume oil. It's still very strong, sweet and almost fruity at that dilution rate in a jojoba base. This oil is just as amazing as I hoped it would be!!! 100 stars!

Rating: This is my go-to scent. I bought some on a whim about 5 years ago and haven't been without it since. The scent is sweet and almost thick smelling on its own but tones down and blends well on my skin. A little goes a long way and the oil holds up well over so I splurged on the 1/2oz this time around!

Rating: I love this, and I am totally content with the Sambac. It's completely hypnotic.

Rating: Boy do I wish I had gotten the grandiflorum in the absolute rather than the sambac. The sambac has got a cloying sweetness that I find rather unpleasant. That scent overpowers the jasmine scent for me, and that's even after dilution and mixing it with other oils. I've tried the grandiflorum as the 3% dilution, and it is MUCH better. If you want to buy just one of them, I'd recommend going with that one.

Rating: For the lovers of Jasmine, like me, I think the Sambac is the one you're looking for.

Rating: I love Jasmine Sambac more than Jasmine Grandiflorum. Sambac is more sweet and Grandiflorum is more on the bitter side (if you compare it to Sambac). Both great depending what you will put them into or mix it with. But on its own, Sambac is like putting your nose right in the flower, its so lovely. I wish the 5ml was a bit cheaper since it is to try it out....if you compare to the 15 ml.

Rating: Beautiful enough to wear on its own (diluted). It's bright and cheerful and sophisticated all at the same time.
People will ask "what are you wearing?".

Rating: Have it, love it, coming back for more. I wear this mixed with your carrier oils and cream base for an all over body lotion. I have discontinued wearing expensive perfumes because I can make my own scents with this awesome Jasmine Sambac! I've also price shopped this and other of the NDA products...Very appreciative of how fair you are in your pricing! This definitely MORE than a 5 star product!

Rating: What a heady scent! I like to make incense blends and this is an essential ingredient in my dark moon incense. This is a pure delight and a reasonable price for an absolute that has such exquisite tones

Rating: I used to love jasmine sambac much more than jasmine grandiflorum until I tried both from ND. Now I love them both. I think jasmine sambac needs to be diluted much more than other oils because it is so potent. Once diluted way down, I can appreciate how lovely it smells. I used to live in the Far East, and the the fragrance from the jasmine flowers would perfumed the air at night. This variety reminded me of those nights.

Rating: We found this an excellent fragrance once diluted in a mix. This Sambac mixed very well with sandalwood (india) and neroli for a truely exotic aroma that lasts. We are new to aromatherapy, but found through our research and testing, absolutes do not smell the same in the bottle as they do when properly mixed and released into the air or applied to the skin. With the small amounts this Sambac requires, our 1/2 ounce should last a while.
Rating: I tried the Jasmine sambac after trying and loving the Jasmine g. What a surprise! The sambac is very different and not nearly as pleasant. To me it smells like Jasmine with an overtone of gasoline. So I thought it must just be this bottle and I ordered more from a different supplier. Well the new bottle arrived today and it smells exactly the same. So I guess that's just what sambac smells like. So if you are a lover of the grandiflorum, try this one knowing that it is very different. I wish I'd known because now I have an ounce of sambac that I'm not sure what to do with.

Rating: Exquisite jasmine. This is like walking through a flower garden on a bright summer's day. Love is in the air with this jasmine! There's a high chance that there's a place in paradise that smells similar to this. You can use it straight with some carrying oil of your choice for a nice jasmine natural perfume.

Rating: A tiny bit grander than the grandiflorum...bigger and bolder I think. Very good quality and seems a fair price as only the tiniest amount is needed for full effects. Really gives my sensuous blends a sexy steam.
