Essential Oils containing Borneol

Borneol: Historically, the name for this constituent was Borneo Camphor. It has a sharp Camphor-like odor and easily yields the Ketone called Camphor when oxidized and chemically altered. Most Borneol is synthetically derived from Turpentine Oil or from Camphor but can also be obtained from a tree that belongs to the Teak family. In other chemical processes, Borneol can be used to synthesize other compounds.
