The two isomers of this constituent are α-Farnesene and β-Farnesene, the former being the most common. Farnesene is also one of the commonly used constituents in perfumery for its pleasant aroma, which is often compared to the fragrance of Magnolia flowers. Its scent is generally woody with vegetative and floral nuances.
