Essential Oils containing Santalol

Santalol: There are two types of Santalol: alpha-Santalol (α-Santalol) and beta-Santalol (β-Santalol). These are the main constituents of Sandalwood Oil and are responsible for giving Sandalwood its characteristic woody and milky scent. The scent of alpha-Santalol is described as being slightly woody and weak relative to the powerful scent of beta-Santalol. This constituent is a valuable component in perfumery.
