Product Abstract: The tree can grow up to 35 meters (100 feet) and the camphor is found in every part of it. The Essential Oil is extracted by steam from the chipped wood, root stumps and branches, and is then rectified. White camphor oil is the first distillation's fraction. In China and Japan, Cinnamomum camphora must be at least 50 years old to produce oil, and can often grow as old as a thousand years. The wood has been used in the construction of temples and in ship-building because of its durability and aromatic properties.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: I purchased this camphor because of the similarity to eucalyptus I figured I could use it in Eucalyptus blends to stretch out the eucalyptus but this has a very different smell then eucalyptus it is very medicinal and much more piercing it is very sinus clearing and almost has a chemical like smell that i do not like. It is not the fault of new directions aromatics, they sell great products at a great price it's just my personal preference on camphor.

Rating: This is a wonderful eo for the benefits , price and quality! It smells strong and herbacious, which means you do not have to use a lot. Camphor is great in a foot soak or muscle rub for tired feet or aching joints.

Rating: This is probably my FAVORITE EO! I know it's said to be toxic, but I just can't get enough of it. It's in my pocket 24/7.

Rating: Of course it smells strong and almost medicinal but is perfect mixed with other EOs and carrier oils for muscle rubs, pain balms and insect repellent. A strong whiff out of the bottle will clear your sinuses too.

Rating: I used this oil with caution as advised in the description. It is extremely potent so please use it sparingly. A drop or two along with eucalyptus blended in plenty of mineral water makes an effective insect/mosquito repellant.

Rating: Very strong and sinus clearing. I use in my chest rub recipe. Definitely a great oil to have around during cold and flu season.

Rating: Great in a Vicks-type chest rub, in combination with some cajeput and peppermint. The price is absolutely the best I was able to find anywhere! What a deal!

Rating: Another super strong scent- I have a hard time figuring out where to store the bottle and I haven't even opened it yet. That made me second guess using it in a massage oil. At first I called ND and they said I could return it. But the scent is starting to grow on me, and I double checked and this is a rectified camphor so it should be safer to use. I think I'll keep it after all, and use it very sparingly.

Rating: Added to an essential oil blend, a very small amount of this oil sharpens the scent and balances it out quite nicely. I was surprised when I first discovered this, as the scent directly from the bottle very "mothball-y". Excellent quality at a superb price.

Rating: I love the smell of Camphor -- it truly cleanses the energy of any room. I use this in my all purpose surface cleaner, in the bathrooms straight from the bottle to keep things smelling fresh, and to balance my energy when I am having difficulties falling asleep. Camphor can also be used to halt homeopathic courses. Oh, I also use it in my carpet cleaner, and the room has a fresh clean feeling for DAYS and DAYS after.

Rating: I am starting a house cleaning business and really want to tout my all natural, home made cleaning products. I bought this to add to my disinfecting spray and find that it really smells like one would expect disinfecting spray to smell. I expect this will add to my credibility.

Rating: Excellent quality camphor, and a price to match! I use this is my Fight-A -Flu blend as well...works wonders. Very opening for the bronchial tubes and quite penetrating. Careful dilution is necessary, but can be a life-saver when added to eucalyptus and some others in a facial steam (big bowl of hot water w/ oils added and towel over your head) especially when you have a nasty virus or cold.
