Folded Essential Oils: Through distillation, terpenes are partially removed from the oil thus giving it a slightly stronger scent. Some terpenes are more likely to oxidize thus removing some will help improve the shelf-life of the essential oil for soaps and candles.

Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note with a medium aroma, Orange Five Fold has a sweet, citrus smell like the orange peels from which it is derived, but more intense and concentrated.
Product Abstract: Orange is derived from an evergreen tree. It is smaller than the bitter orange tree, and less hardy with fewer or no spines. The fruit itself has a sweet pulp with no bitter membrane. Orange Five Fold Oil is more concentrated than the regular citrus essential oils. The increased concentration of the essential oil fragrance makes the oil perfect for soap and candle making. It is believed that sweet orange was brought to Europe by the Arabs in the First century along with the bitter orange.
Cautions: This essential oil may contain phototoxic properties and it is suggested to avoid exposure to the sun after application to the skin. Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: If you need a orange oil for soapmaking, look no further. This has a deep, sweet orange scent that sticks around in soap. It is also usually quite dark orange and will discolor the finished product (plan for a pale orange cast). I find that I still need to use more than I would of other essential oils (one and a half times as much) to get a scent level I prefer, but it is much less than non-folded citrus oils.

Rating: Nice clear, true scent. Usually use the Sweet Orange and thought I'd try this: so far so good! I mostly add some Litsea to my citrus blends for staying power, and will continue to do so with this 5 fold, but will ease off a little to see how it lasts. Soaps beautifully!

Rating: I love this oil. It's completely delicious (for the nose) and uplifting. It's an inexpensive but wonderful substance that consoles me for the price of rose oil, which I would buy by the gallon if I were a billionaire.
I made two jars of skin cream with this, one straight-up orange and one with a few drops of lavender. My friend loved the orange but REALLY loved the orange that was complexed up a little with the lavender.
I'm not a soap maker or a massage therapist or an expert in any of this, but your products increase happiness in my world.

The only reason I took 1 star off from my review is I expected the smell to be stronger. Especially beacause its a 5 fold... On the other hand, its my very first time ever to order an orange essential oil meaning I have no comparisation point. I like that ND description has been precise- its said the strength is medium and not strong.
Im using it little bit in my body lotion and it does a great job!

Rating: This definitely has the typical orange scent. Personally, I prefer blood orange, which is a bit softer, earthier, and more subtle. However, this is great for a generic orange scent. I did find, though, that it didn't stand up as well to mixing into a soap recipe as I had hoped, and that was a bit of a disappointment.

Rating: I stopped making citrus CP soap a few years ago because, after time, the scent would wane. I just received my shipment yesterday, and the first bottle I opened was the 5-Fold Sweet Orange. OMG!!! I cannot stop smelling this, it smells so good. It has an intense natural orangey scent along with a very orangey color. It reminds me of orange skittles. Awesome. I am going to use this in a batch today, along with pumice and a shot of d-Limonene to make Gardener's and Mechanic's Soaps. It will impart a wonderful orange tint to the soap. According to my research, it lasts longer than regular citrus EOs, so I will see. I am impressed with all of the other EOs I ordered also. Wow, you go, NDA!

Rating: this product is WONDERFUL for cleaning , i mix it with water, white vin. , and a bit of tea tree and it makes my house shine and smell fantastic!! so much nicer than store brand cleaners , some much better for the enviroment, and so much better on my pocketbook!!! and a bit more FYI, it makes short work of bird poop! and its safe for the birds once the cage and everything is dry!
Rating: Upon a trip to NDA's headquarters in Toronto, I visited their showroom and was delighted by rows and rows of FOs, EOs, colorants, additives and other products to try out and see up close.
I smelt this and absolutely fell inlove with it. Citrusy, sweet, warm and zesty--it is the perfect compliment to almost any of my soap recipes when calling for something Orange-ish. I can't wait to visit NDA again soon and see what's new!

Rating: This is a wonderful warm and happy oil! I love to blend it with bergamot as a room spray or put it in a difuser.
I also mix it with a mild biodegradable soap to clean the floors and counter tops!

Rating: I don't use any other orange essential oil in my soap...The more I use, the better it is, and even when I used a small amount, the scent held up well. My old soap is months old and still smells great. You always read the citrus oils fade and aren't really worth the time unless you get a quality oil...here it is. However, I've never tried the regular oils to see if the 5 fold is really that much better.

Rating: I particularily like the Orange 5 fold because it is really stable in my formulations. I was able to decrease my emulsifier quantity by half because of the increased stability of Orange 5 fold compared to regular orange essential oils. Of course, it also has a fantastic scent that is exactly like the burst of scent you get when you open a fresh, ripe orange.
