Description / Color / Consistency: A thick, dark brown liquid.
Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note of medium aroma, Coffee Oil smells just like a fresh brewed pot of coffee.
Blends With: Allspice, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Vanilla.
Product Abstract:Coffea Arabica is the earliest cultivated species of the coffee tree and still the most widely grown. All fine specialty coffees come from Coffea Arabica, which produce approximately 70% of the world's coffee, and are dramatically superior in quality to the other principal commercial coffee species. All the coffee now grown in the Americas originated from one tree in a Dutch botanical garden. Among other possibilities, it is thought that the name 'coffee' comes from Caffa, an Abyssinian province. It can be burned like incense as a room deodorizer, and is known to be loaded with flavonoids and antioxidants. Because this oil has a slightly thick consistency, we would recommend placing the bottle in a very hot water bath, changing the water frequently, and once it is back to the liquid state, be sure to shake it gently before use.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: This essential oil became a sensation among my clients. I made a whipped shi, and added the essential oil of coffee - everything was sorted out in two days!
I regret very much that I took only 1/2 ounce ...

Rating: I'm so glad I found this on NDA! This essential oil has a very satisfying scent that is a little sweet. It doesn't exactly smell like coffee beans, but it smells like the taste of coffee with a little sugar. I use it in a sugar scrub, and am thinking about other ways to use it. I really like this oil and my customers have responded well to it. I am also a proud coffee snob & addict.

Rating: Mmmm...smells just like fresh brewed coffee....would be amazing with cocoa absolute!
Rating: After reading the other reviews, I was hoping this would smell like fresh coffee brewed from freshly ground beans, but to me it's more like the smell of a very good instant coffee. It's not bad, but I probably wouldn't get it again.

Rating: Very strong and true scent. I love love love mixing this with chocolate fragrance oil for an amazing cappuccino chocolate scent. I wish you'd come up with a more economical and true fragrance oil like this.

Rating: It really does smell like a strong cup of coffee!! Just in time for the holiday season!
Rating: I have no idea how this performs in soaps (probably poorly), but it is absolutely amazing in lip balms and lotions. For best results, pair with vanilla absolute and raw cocoa butter.

Rating: Amazing coffee scent. It is definitely worth buying this EO over a fragrance oil. Smells delicious in lotion

Rating: I really like this oil. It really does smell like coffee. I don't think a half ounce is going to be enough; I am seriously thinking about investing in a 3 ounce bottle. I do not see why anyone would not like this oil, it is fantastic.

Rating: BIG BOLD COFFEE here. Love the scent. And love it in my sore muscle blend. It is a powerful stimulant of circulation. When I rub my shoulders with my muscle blend my face even flushes because the circulation is that stimulated. Fun as an aromatic and serious mixed with carrier oil. Thanks ND!!!

Rating: Love, love, love this EO! Makes a perfect lip balm, everyone loves it! Want to try it in CP soap, but price is a little high. The scent is like a strong cup of coffee, not "sweet" at all.

Rating: This is going in my purse so I sniff during the day when I need to be re-energized at work. It reminds me of walking into the kitchen first thing in the morning and smelling the coffee brewing-best part of my whole day. I love it and my daughter keeps grabbing the bottle so she can smell it.
Rating: Not sure you could find a scent more true to coffee than this! I'm excited to try this with vanilla in a milk based soap. Instead of a Tim's Double Double it'll be an Amy's Double Double.

Rating: I don't drink coffee, but I love the smell of it, and this is better than any brewed coffee I've smelled! I love this stuff. Going to get a bigger bottle and put in my HP soaps next time!

Rating: I can't stress enough how wonderful this e/o is! If you love coffee like I do this is like a very strong and bold cup put into a tiny jar! Just a wiff of this gives a relaxing feel. I am personally fond of this in lip balms, sugar scrubs, and lotions! NDA is also by far the cheapest supplier for this too!
By:Heather, Colorado Springs, Colorado Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 26-Aug-2009
Rating: I got this oil because I thought it would make a great soap,
and wow was I right.
Smells like fresh brewed black coffee.
I mixed it with peppermint EO and it make's an amazing soap to wake you up.
One of the best I have ever used.
Rating: Really like this. Doesn't have the sweet coffee smell of a FO, but a more "real" black coffee. Used 7% in my soap (crock method) & it smells good, but think I may move it up to 9% to get more up front scent. May try it later as a lip balm at maybe 1% mixed with another foodie eo.
By:Terry, Toronto, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: Nice stuff! Does smell just like coffee. I had to remove the dropper cap to get it out of the bottle, though. A little thick. I like blending it with the NDA cocoa absolute, or vanilla 10 fold, or sweet orange, or cinnamon, or anything else "foody."
By:Crystal, Port Moody, British Columbia Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: I love this it smell just like fresh ground coffee. The oil is very thick so getting it out of the bottle was a little tricky but it smells great, I am glad I got it for my coffee fragrance, I can't say that a little went a long way but it was well worth the money spent.

Rating: If your looking for a good strong coffee scent look no farther! This essential oil is bold, strong, intense, and as true to the coffee you brew at home! It's pricy but New Directions is one if the cheapest pricer you will find! But rest assure with even a 1/2 ounce of this thick oil it is sure to stretch! Just a wif if this stuff is enough to give you a burst of energy! I will be definitely be buying more!

Rating: Coffee essential oil has moved into my number one spot for all-time favorite EOs. The scent reminds me of my days working as a barista. Those were good times, so for me, this is scent brings back happy thoughts. It smells a lot like fresh ground French Roast coffee beans...very dark, strong, uplifting, and warming. Smells good enough to drink. Thanks for offering this wonderful oil, NDA!

Rating: Wonderful aroma, stimulating and refreshing. Perfect for those who love the smell of coffee but not the taste. :o) Worth the price and I look forward to using it in my bath and beauty products.
Rating: I love this EO - so nice to have something like this to order from NDA. While it is a lovely coffee aroma I also get a bit of a malty undertone.
Worth the price!

Rating: Just received my first order and wow, what an incridible EO. This will get much use. I recently gave up caffeine and this actually helps in reducing the cravings, just by inhaling it. Very good quality.
Rating: Coffee essential oil doesn't get more true than this. If you like coffee, this is for you. In fact, just smelling makes me want some coffee. In the polo black fragrance (ralph lauren) coffee is mixed with mango. You don't have to smell it to know it's delightful. Note: mango is a synthetic scent. You get what you pay for with this one.
By:Sherif, Scarborough, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: We love this essential oil! We had ordered a coffee butter (coffee oil in hydrogenated soybean oil) from another supplier a while ago and were very unhappy with the strong "black coffee" scent, but we decided to give NDA's coffee eo a chance... we are VERY pleased with it. It has a rich, full-bodied... like a mellow Colombian coffee smell. Just a hint of sweet. I can't wait to try this in a coffee scrub and in a lip balm. I know my customers will go crazy for it. I definitely recommend this eo!

Rating: I also love this coffee essential oil. Smells even better than the real thing. Super rich and full bodied. I used it in my bath salts & body scrubs class. It's great in a all-natural coffee sugar scrub with some ground coffee to add to the look and exfoliation. Caffeinated bath/body products are all the buzz right now (pun intended!). I would definitely buy this product again and highlyl recommend it!

Rating: Wonderful oil, I use this to "clear the palatte" so to speak when dealing with many different essential oils. (You can also use fresh ground beans for the same effect), but COFFEE ABSOLUTEor Coffea arabica is FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. It's great to use with Balms, Candles, Ointments, Lip Balms, Skin Cream, and Soaps. Good quality.
