Product Abstract: Although the Tea Tree plant is indigenous to Australia, it is now grown in many parts of the world including China. The Chinese tea tree plant is a small shrub with needle-like leaves similar to that of the Australian variety. Considered less effective therapeutically, it is widely used in manufacturing of personal-care products and natural cleaners. Historically, the leaves were used as a substitute for tea, which is how it got its name. First used by the aboriginals in Australia, it has since become very popular oil and is used world-wide.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: This Chinese Tea Tree works perfectly in my cold processed soaps! Out of the bottle, the smell is not as nice to me as the Australian, but once it is blended into soap, and usually mixed with other scents, it is just as wonderful as the Australian, but with a much better price!

Rating: Just as expected, with characteristics of good tea tree oil. Excellent blended with lavender. Good value.

Rating: It's funny how no two tea trea essential oils are the same. This one is my first purchase from NDA, and I have to say,it's much less foul smelling than usual tea tree varieties, and much more reminiscent of Iodine Tincture instead of the burnt tar that has been my normal experience. I can actually use it in body care recipes now, without scaring people away!

Rating: My husband loves this for clearing up his chest acne. It's the only soap he will use now.

Rating: Chinese Tea Tree does NOT smell like "gun oil," as stated in a previous review. It has a woodsy masculine scent. To me, it smells better than the more expensive Australian variety.... It also has just as many therapeutic values as the more expensive variety. The benefits are phenomenal. And the affordable price makes this oil a ideal for soaping. A little goes a very long way.

Rating: This tea tree oil has a pungent scent that can't be mistaken for anything other than tea tree oil! Super concentrated and great in everything. Love this product!

Rating: I'm sorry, but this tea tree oil is AWFUL. I have purchased many different brands before, I know what tea tree oil is supposed to smell like. When I opened the bottle for the first time, I was so disappointed. It smells NOTHING like tea tree oil. It smells like car exhaust. My boys said it smells like "gun oil" if you know what that is. It wasn't worth shipping back, so I'm stuck with it. I will not use it in any of the soaps I'm making, in any amount, it's that bad. Choose another variety of tea tree oil (although I haven't tried any of them). I've been satisfied with all of the other oils I've received from this company-but this one.

Rating: I want to thank NDA for their exemplary quality products. Each product that I have received I have been thouroughly pleased with it's quality and packaging, I can see that great care goes into each and every item they send, that they clearly care for their clients by the special care they put into each delivery. As for the Melaleuca alternifolia, I have ordered this product several times and am always pleased with it's quality. Tea Tree oil has so many uses, I have appropriated a few ideas of my own which I would like to share with you. Tea Tree oil used in conjunction with baking soda will take off all stains or extra difficult glue or trouble items that just won't come off any other way, it not only cleans it also disinfects the area as well. I have also used it as a tooth paste in conjunction with the baking soda, just a few drops on the tooth brush is all that is needed, because Tea Tree Oil is a penetrating oil it cleans deep and kills bad bacteria that causes bad breath and helps to remove tartar. I have also used it in soap making as it is great for the skin to kill bacteria that causes acne and makes your skin feeling refreshed afterward. I have also used it to swab the back of the throat to fight off infections/colds, as well as one or two drops to flush sinuses when fighting a cold. I have also used it to swab around a trouble tooth if there may be an infection starting at the root, and it will stop it in it's tracks after just a few applications, this is an amazing product, one that I always want to have on hand at all times! Thank you for your great products as well as affordable prices!

Rating: I tried this for the first time instead of the Australian kind, and I was pleasantly surprised. The smell is definitely not as strong, but also can't be mistaken as other than tea tree oil. I use this in a mixture of herbal extractions along with peppermint, clove and cayenne for a natural antiseptic and refreshing mouth rinse. I also checked the MSDS safety sheet, and it meets the same qualifications as required for pharmaceutical grade use by the Australian government based on the amounts of Terpinen-4-ol and Cineol, which is wonderful! I've been very pleased and impressed with the quality of nearly all of New Directions oils. Thanks!

Rating: I'm not really crazy about the scent of tea tree oil. Not just this particular one, but all. It might not have a lot of clout in the aroma area, but it makes up for that in it's ability to clear up athletes foot and other fungi. I wouldn't be without it. Thanks.

Rating: I use this in my soap with lavender as an anti-fungal soap and it works. Also just a drop a day on a toenail will clear up nail fungus. If it is any type of fungus, this is the first oil that I would recommend.

Rating: For the price it has enough tea tree smell to make me happy. I was hoping it would be close to the more expensive version and it is. No problems with this. Thank you for providing an excellent product!

Rating: Tea Tree Chinese is excellent-I use it to clean my yoga mat. It's strong enough, but not too strong smelling. I take a whiff of it and rub a little on my temples when I start feeling a headache coming on, it really helps me!

Rating: I bought this to include in my all-natural homemade cleaning products. I'm excited about the natural antimicrobial properties. It smells clean, too. I mixed it with lemon in a powered cleaner and just love using it so I can be surrounded by the smell.

Rating: Here is your warning: if you are expecting this to smell just like the Australian variety you may be disappointed. Then again, it is much cheaper and if using in a medicinal blend with other strong EO's or in smaller amounts, someone will have to "dig deep" to find the different notes not present in the Australian. Overall, very nice.

Rating: I wasn't sure what this oil would be like, but I have to say, I like it even better than the more expensive tea tree oils we have. The aroma is fresher and it seems to work just as well. I like it a lot! Thanks, ND!
